Highfield Level 3 Diploma in Team Leader (RQF) - this is a new qualification recently released by Highfield and available from A2A Training with full tutor support online. This qualification has been developed to support learners completing the Team Leader apprenticeship standard and can be used to assess their readiness for end-point assessment.   It covers the knowledge, skills and behaviour criteria of the standard, as described in the Assessment Plan version IfATE v1.3 and IfATE v1.4.   It is also designed as a stand-alone qualification for those learners wishing to gain a nationally recognised qualification in team leading.   The objective of the qualification is to support a role in the workplace, giving learners the opportunity to learn and evidence their knowledge and competency either as part of an apprenticeship or as a stand-alone qualification. My Weekly Learning 101: After a roller coaster new job role and a few weeks of whirlwind learning, finally a weekend to be still and reflect. So what did I learn? 😄 - Old dogs new tricks Took up the AFC role recently and till date signed up fifty plus new apprentices; 26 approved by Vic dept and remaining getting processed. Feeling good for a new start role. Regardless of age, we can always learn new skills. Whether apprentice, existing upskilling staff or experienced staff taking up a new challenge, it's essential to adopt a positive mindset that will help our success in acquiring new work skills. - Teamwork and support For any new role, it's important to have good teamwork and support. A team that is experienced and generous in sharing knowledge and their on-the-job know how. A supportive environment that give you guidance, let you make mistakes, learn and correct yourself, and customise your work methods to work as efficiently as you can. A balance of guidance and autonomy is a great combination to facilitate progressive learning. - Work pace and self pace This I learned the hard way in the first two weeks as I tried to take on too much too early. Rushing through work, not conducting proper case research, compromising data check, often means spending extra time to review, recheck and follow-up to correct errors. This is not just time-consuming it also creates more distraction and stress for yourself. Lesson here is to organise work commitments, pace your own work and plan time to complete each Signup task in a timely manner. - Enjoy the work journey As I was told before, work will always be there and part of our life. So enjoy the journey, the people and the work itself. Don't over stress and just perform to our best efforts at all times. It's a marathon, not a sprint. Of course easier said than done, but we can always try.
