#GroundUpStories | The Agariyas are traditional salt pan workers who have been cultivating salt in Little Rann of Kachchh (LRK) for hundreds of years. In February 2023, eviction notices were issued to many of them. According to the notice, all Agariyas who had not registered under an official survey and settlement (S&S) process were considered illegal encroachers on a wild ass sanctuary notified under the Wild Life Protection Act of 1972. Nonprofits, in association with government agencies, have tried to help by providing facilities that include drinking water, seasonal hostels for children of Agariya and nomadic communities, treatment for occupational health hazards, safety kits, subsidised solar-powered pumps, and medical camps inside the Rann. Ironically, the state government on the one hand is trying to improve the lives of this community while on the other is depriving them of their land. Mother Teresa ~ “If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one” About the Fundraiser - The epidemic is now over from our country. But even if there is no epidemic, many people are not getting enough food. The reason for this is that in the time of epidemic, all the accumulated capital of many people has been exhausted and they have also got debt. The employment of many people has also been snatched away. Who are we? NYNB (Nice Yoga & Naturopathy Bureau Trust) has taken an initiative to prevent people from starving. Our NGO is feeding the poor and unemployed who are struggling to feed themselves after the lockdown. Through cooked food, we were able to distribute more than 10 lakh food packets to the needy since the first lockdown. Who do we help? Since the first lockdown, we have been taking care of several families in the rural areas. In these regions, reside migrants, daily wage workers, rickshaw drivers, rag pickers etc. - who have been unemployed and struggling to afford basic food. We've expanded our efforts whenever there was a necessity and the need was at its peak. Our Aim - Our aim is to feed as many families through the food packets. We have already distribute more than 10 lakh food packets to the needy since the first lockdown to million families hit by unemployment due to Covid. Meet Shashti Sahay. She is a temporary tea worker at Alibahar Tea Estate. Her husband passed away 5 years ago, leaving her to raise two daughters in a small hut provided by the estate. Tragically, her eldest daughter's face was disfigured by an illness shortly after birth. Shashti earns a weekly wage of 300 BDT and receives 5 kgs of rice every Sunday. Despite this, she can only afford two basic meals a day, consisting mainly of rice with "Aloo bharta" (Mashed potatoes) or, at times, just rice with salt. During a survey, Shashti made a humble request to our team: she asked for seeds and some poultry, hoping to sell the produce to secure a better livelihood for her family. Her wish is simple yet profound—a desire to ensure she can provide at least two proper meals for her children. #BoxOfEquality #MCN #SupportUnderprivileged #TeaWorkers #CommunitySupport #RuralEmpowerment #PovertyAlleviation #SustainableDevelopment #SocialImpact #EqualityForAll #EmpowerCommunities #EndPoverty #HumanRights #WomenEmpowerment #CommunityResilience #EconomicEmpowerment #HopeForAll

You read that right. According to the CDC, only 1 in 10 American adults is eating the recommended daily serving of fruits and vegetables. This alarming statistic highlights a significant gap in our nation's health and wellness. Even more concerning is the fact that those living at or below the poverty level are even less likely to get the nourishment they need from fresh produce. At Planet Harvest, we are committed to changing this narrative. Our mission is to improve these numbers by ensuring that more fresh produce makes its way from our nation's farms to our communities' tables. By addressing inefficiencies in the supply chain and reducing food waste, we aim to make fresh produce more accessible to everyone, regardless of their socioeconomic status. Let's work together to close the nutrition gap and promote healthier eating habits across the country. Join us in making a difference one bite at a time. #FruitsAndVeggies #FreshProduce #FoodAccessForAll #PlanetHarvestMission #HealthyEating #ProduceWithPurpose
