Share this with someone who you care about ❤️❤️ If you agree 🏷️ Tag a parent who would feel inspired by this We need to bring back childhood! Since introduction to the smart phone in 2010 we have seen a huge decline in children's mental health. This paired with parental fears prohibits children from doing the very thing they need to be both psychologically, emotionally, and physically healthy. They need unfettered time to play outdoors, get dirty, and take risks. Children should be able to move in ways that make adults gasp! They need to take these risks through play to learn how to NOT get hurt, to develop tolerance to stress, and to develop grit. They need face-to-face time with other children to learn social skills and fill their emotional cups. 🎥 Thank you @positivespike for originally posting this important video. #screenfreekids #parenting #parentingtips #consciousparenting #familyfirst #mentalhealth #childdevelopment #1000hoursoutside

Many well-meaning parents aim to toughen their children up, hoping to prepare them for life's challenges. While resilience is essential, there's a risk of going too far and inadvertently raising children who lack empathy and concern for others. Children learn emotional responses and social behaviours from their primary caregivers. Emphasising toughness without emotional intelligence can lead to difficulties in forming healthy relationships and understanding others' feelings. Empathy is crucial for mental health and social development. Children who understand and feel the pain of others are more likely to develop into compassionate, socially adjusted adults. Overemphasis on resilience might suppress these vital traits, leading to emotional detachment. Parenting Tips: Balance is Key: Encourage resilience but also model and teach empathy. Show your children how to be strong and kind. Open Communication: Discuss emotions openly. Validate their feelings and teach them to do the same for others. Role-Playing: Use scenarios to practice empathetic responses, helping them understand different perspectives. By fostering both resilience and empathy, we can raise children who are not only strong but also kind-hearted and emotionally intelligent. Striking this balance is challenging, but even the effort itself makes a significant difference. #parentingtips #childmentalhealth #empathy #resilience

Supporting children's mental health can happen through the little things! As busy parents, finding simple, joyful moments can be a challenge, but these little gestures can compound and have a big impact of our children's mental health. I remember the last day of my daughter’s first year of school, when I gave her a bouquet of flowers to celebrate her 'hard' work. It was a small way of showing my pride in her, but that gesture has become a loved tradition. Now, each year, my kids look forward to that end-of-school celebration, where they know their hard work will be recognized in a special way and it influences the way they approach their school year. When we add small surprises into our children’s lives we’re creating moments that compound to give them a sense of joy, security, and appreciation. Simple actions like these can offer a boost to mental well-being, especially for kids who thrive on connection and encouragement. These small actions are possible, even when schedules are hectic. I’m committed to helping companies better support and empower their working parents through actionable steps like these. After all, parenting doesn’t stop at the workplace door. #Parenting #MentalHealth #WorkingParents #ChildDevelopment #ParentingTips #EmployeeWellness #ParentCoach #Motherhood
