I did a thing today. An impactful thing. I served as a volunteer table host at a community listening event. There was no agenda other than simply listening. Anyone could come and join a topic table and speak to their lived experience. In a safe space. Created with intention. It’s hard to listen without agenda. It’s an intentional act. It was humbling. And amazing. About 20 tables talked about everything from homelessness to philanthropy to mental health to diversity. But here’s what struck me: If we could engage the entire community in conversation and ask them to define our values as a community….we would find that we all share the same values. We all want good schools, opportunity, safe communities, housing, healthcare, excellent public services. Once you know this…that we ALL want the same things…how do you ignore inequality…homelessness…food deserts…joblessness…poor educational options? You can’t. Because we ALL want the same things. We want to thrive and grow in our communities. We want to be heard. We want to matter. Find a way to help your community be better, do better. Don’t stand idly by and say gosh, what a shame. Be the change. Work for the greater good. Help the rising tide raise all boats. As it should.

When we celebrate July 4th, it's more than just BBQs and fireworks. It's about community. 🇺🇸 Here are 4 creative ways to show love for your community this Independence Day: 🎉 Host a Local Event: Organize a neighborhood potluck or a local talent show. It's a great way for first-time home buyers and VA buyers to meet their neighbors and build connections. 🌟 Support Local Businesses: Visit farmers' markets, local shops, or dine at a family-owned restaurant. Small actions can make a big impact on local businesses. 👥 Volunteer: Spend a few hours at a community center or participate in a clean-up event. It’s a wonderful way to give back and make our neighborhoods better. 🏡 Share Your Home Buying Story: For many, owning a home is the American dream. Sharing your journey can inspire others, especially first-time and VA buyers. This July 4th, let's make our communities stronger and more connected. Happy Independence Day! 🎆 How do you plan to celebrate and give back to your community?

𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧'𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 Today as designated by the United Nation is a reminder that by investing in the future, we are investing in the future generation of our kids. And it's our job to be aware of the problems that many kids around the globe currently face, so we can help raise awareness and improve the welfare of kids. All children deserve to live a healthy, happy life. No matter where they live. And it starts with doing our part in helping. Just how can we do this? 1.) You can join events that take place in communities that bring adults and kids together to raise awareness. 2.) You can sponsor a kid around the globe through organizations. 3.) You can host an event for parents with children as a way to teach kids how important it is to build a bond with your community.

One of the things elderly people struggle with is loneliness and lack of social engagement. Sometimes, it can be difficult for them to leave their home due to illness, inability to drive, and lack of transportation options. Programs like these can be a wonderful way to invest in the lives of our senior citizens. #NCIwisconsin #Neuropsychology #Kenosha #seniorcitizens
Can you help? We consistently find word of mouth is the most effective way to spread the word about our program. We currently have 7 seniors in our community who are waiting for a weekly visit from a new friend. Please consider volunteering-we only ask for one hour per week of you time! If you cannot volunteer at this time, please help us out by telling your family, friends, co-workers, church family, and all in your circle about us-we would truly appreciate it. Thank you! https://lnkd.in/gh_Wak2N
