Last night I went to a Beat the Streets Chicago Wrestling charity event, and I have to tell you, it was pretty moving. The organization is all about helping kids in Chicago through wrestling.
It’s not just about the sport; they use wrestling as a way to mentor these kids and teach them important life skills.
Picture this: a shy kid steps onto the mat for the first time, unsure of themselves. Through the program, they get consistent support from coaches and make strong bonds with their teammates.
Over time, this kid transforms, gaining confidence and resilience. Beat the Streets Chicago reaches over 2,500 kids each year with their year-round programs.
They focus on values like accountability, gratitude, and grit, aiming to build what they call “Life Champions.”
Another impressive thing is their “Level Up” success rate. They ensure that 100% of their seniors go on to college, trade school, the military, or some other post-secondary path. It’s clear they’re committed to the long-term success of these kids.
Supporting events like this helps keep programs like Beat the Streets Chicago going, making sure more kids get these life-changing opportunities.
If you want to know more or help out, you can check out their website. They do incredible work.
