At Forward Ability Support we are always looking at how we can improve outcomes for those that we support including supporting research into SCI and the associated conditions.
Recently a member of our team Keith McNaughton met residents, staff and clinicians at Ferguson Lodge, run by Forward Ability Support It was a great opportunity to meet everyone, give an update on our current trials and studies, and to invite everyone to participate in exciting research. Thanks to Sharis Matevossian Doumit (Community Engagement Manager) and Sarah (Director of Home and Living Supports) for hosting the morning and particularly the residents for meeting with us.

Recently, my team and I supported the Clean Air Together Limerick campaign, a project led by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Environment and Climate Action Team in Limerick City and County Council. Clean air plays a vital role in both environment and public health, contributing to the well-being of our communities and creating healthier spaces. Healthy Ireland and Sláintecare recognise how environmental conditions directly affect our health. By improving air quality, we strengthen the social determinants of health—where people live, learn, work, and play—creating real benefits in everyday lives. With 27 key deliverables in the Healthy Ireland strategy, this campaign exemplifies how we can drive lasting change. Clean Air Together empowers people as citizen scientists, contributing valuable data to shape policy and improve health outcomes. This collaboration highlights the strong connection between environmental actions and public health. Together, we’re building healthier, more resilient communities. Attention educators, parents, and advocates! Let’s weave together the threads of community engagement and financial empowerment. Visit Jackie Ferrado, the Associate Director for Community Engagement at the WA529 table. WA529 is on a mission to empower Washington families by helping them save for educational expenses. Imagine a future where every student has access to higher education without the burden of excessive debt. That’s the vision we’re working toward. Just as Barbara Hunter emphasizes community engagement to bridge divides, Jackie Ferrado’s work echoes this sentiment. She empowers families to take control of their financial futures. Let’s rally around the idea that every child deserves a shot at higher education. WA529’s programs—GET and DreamAhead—provide flexible options for families to save. Whether it’s a traditional college or a trade school, we’re here to support students’ dreams. Swing by the conference, connect with fellow educators, and explore how community engagement and financial planning intersect. Let’s build bridges, break barriers, and pave the way for a brighter educational future. #WA529 #CommunityEngagement #HigherEducationSavings
We are excited and looking forward to hosting powerful sessions and speakers at the WSPRA Winter Conference on March 6-7 at the Puget Sound ESD in Renton, Washington! If your experience with community engagement looks like angry parents venting their frustrations at a school board meeting or fed-up teachers walking out on the job in protest, then it’s time to revisit what authentic community engagement really means and the power it can have to bring your community together. Learn how stakeholders can share their own perspectives and listen to diverse views in a civilized, productive manner. There's Still Time to Register! Don't miss out on this opportunity to connect, learn, and grow. For more information and to view the full conference agenda and session descriptions, visit our website: https://lnkd.in/dXN_J6b6
