Anu Lall ji has explained very well how it is unfair to say Indians are more unhappy as compared to war zone countries. I recently came across these videos (#kennysebastian) and they made my day. One of the reasons why Indians are truly happy. https://lnkd.in/gTe3PQqM https://lnkd.in/gUvBkPF4 https://lnkd.in/gnNzcxA2 I agree with each and every word, & am sure people would say, as a Dietitian I am supposed to tell people not to have these, why am I promoting them? Most of them are not so unhealthy. Yes maybe a bit higher in fat, but remember ras malai has less fat as compared to pastries. I always tell my clients, that if one wants to relish taste, we are a part of a rich country with 28 states, meaning at least 28 cuisines. Each has different drinks, savories, sweets, main course, chutneys, soups, salads, etc. Most of the preparations are healthy. High-fat ones can be taken occasionally. Traditionally they were taken on festivals only. We must also remember in India we have light food options like veg khichdi and dalia which we can take as the next meal after a small portion of high-fat meals. Portion is the key. Why ultra-processed food? Someone rightly pointed out (search on LinkedIn, won't name to avoid arguments), that we should not be against ultra-processed foods as they come in handy in war-zones. I hope such trouble doesn't reach us, and till then we can eat freshly made Indian cuisine rich heritage food.
