Here's a short Q&A with Heather about her role. What’s your role at Rival and what’s your favourite part about it? I am the Office Experience Manager in Vancouver at Rival. What I love most about this position is the ever-changing nature of each day. The office environment is dynamic, with different faces every day and tasks constantly changing. The day-to-day responsibilities are always shifting, and no day is ever the same here. This really keeps things interesting and engaging. Talk us through a great achievement you’ve had since working with us. The end of 2023 was a busy one at Rival/Reach3. We relocated our Vancouver office while hosting 2 company Holiday gatherings, with over 45 attendees flying in. Successfully managing these events simultaneously stands out as one of my top accomplishments at Rival. Everything fell into place seamlessly for the construction and relocation, while both parties turned out to be successes. Bringing everyone together and achieving these milestones was amazing. What surprised you most about working at Rival Technologies? Having never ventured into the tech industry before, it's very interesting to witness how it works. The fast-pace and ever-changing scope of the company have been exciting to be a part of. A little past a month working for Nyla Technology Solutions. Work's been fulfilling, meaningful, and best of all 40h weeks lol. Legit was told to go home at noon Friday, aka "have a good weekend!" multiple times til I got the hint...bc I'd hit my 40 then lol. So nice! Work stays AT WORK, and even though I have some corporate jazz on my phone through a profile (my choice), I don't feel tethered by it. When you interview with companies, sometimes you can tell their culture from the jump; others it takes years or decades to see it unfold...and not always to where it fits for you or you feel you fit. Nyla and I just "fit". Who honestly knows what the months or years from now will bring, but I'm excited to work in a company like this and have missed the "small business" aspect for way too long. One of the things I love the most about working in a startup is the "all hands-on deck" attitude. When something needs to be done - Everyone pitches in. This week we are moving to a new office - a bigger one that will give us room to expand (did I mention that we are #hiring? Look at the Lidwave page for details) - and everyone helps with the moving.
