Like you, I protect my time and carefully choose where I get involved. This cause hit my heart hard, and I knew I could help make a difference—so I joined the Board of National Center for Pediatric Palliative Care Homes (NCPPCH). Every parent of a medically fragile child dreams of a cure. But their second biggest wish is often much simpler—a chance to rest. Caring for a child with complex medical needs is exhausting, and many parents go for weeks or months without a break. Without the right community services, families feel trapped, overwhelmed, and isolated. That’s where Children’s Respite Homes come in—at least in the few lucky communities that have them. These homes give families a break from the endless caregiving—a chance to rest and recharge. Think of them as extended homes, offering care and support to children who may not live long lives. 🤝 Here’s how you can help: 👉 Donate today to expand these homes and support families on the hardest journeys. 👉 Share this post to connect us with corporate leaders and donors who can help grow our network. Together, we can ensure no family faces this journey alone. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gKb7HvYZ #nonprofit #childrensrespitehomes #familycare #giveback #healthcare #respitecare #childrensrespite

Children who are born under proper medical guidance, in high-figh hospitals, and with specialists are more likely to be completely healthy. Thus, 2/1000 are detected to be victims of Cerebral Palsy - something 100% treatable. Whoever fails to admit the socio-economic divide that is just increasing as every day passes is not aware of the adversaries the humans under the privileged line are facing. These are children, lakhs of them - denied proper healthcare and succumbing to illnesses they were unfortunate to be born with. Where is the impact of change? We may not be able to create a perfect world, but with each cause we champion, every donor who joins us, and our collective efforts, we are inching closer to a better world. Let's come together, give selflessly for the betterment of others, and witness the power of real change. On World Cerebral Palsy Day, here's a reality check on numbers. #LetItCount #CerebralPalsy #HealthcareForAll #SocialChange #HealthcareForChildren #HealthForAll #EmpowerChildren #CommunityImpact #EquityInHealthcare #DonateNow #Charity

It's been almost a year since I joined the Kay Blair Hospice fundraising committee, and in trying to raise money for the construction of this hospice, I've repeatedly encountered the same question: What is a hospice? I think the general lack of awareness of what a hospice is due to how difficult it is to talk about end of life care. And yet, hospices will help individuals and families who are impacted by advanced cancer, dementia, lung disease, heart disease, motor-neuron disease, and more. That's a large portion of the population who will need hospice care to not only manage the symptoms and pain of these diseases, they help individuals cognitively, emotionally and spiritually. In other words, if I were to explain the difference between a hospice and a hospital, it would be that a hospice provides palliative care like a hospital but also focuses on compassion, dignity and support for everyone involved including the family members. Treatment is administered in a home-like setting and additional services are offered to make sure your loved one experiences a peaceful transition. Kuljit Singh, AMP, the board of dedicated volunteers, and I have a goal of raising $3 million to get Brampton's first hospice built, and we need your help. You can help by: 1. Buying tickets to our High Tea and Silent Auction on April 14th (https://lnkd.in/gtTphZPn) 2. Donating an item or service to our Silent Auction 3. Joining our Founders Campaign where you can decide how much and how often you want to donate over time (kayblairhospice.ca) #hospicecare #hospicesupport #hospice #healthcareinnovation #healthservices #healthaccess #healthandwellbeing #endoflifecare #endoflifeplanning

There are approximately 64,000 people living with dementia in Ireland, with Alzheimer's disease being the most common form, accounting for around **50-70% of cases. The number of people with dementia is expected to more than double to 150,000 by 2045 due to Ireland's aging population. Each year, about 11,000 new casesof dementia are diagnosed in Ireland.. While most individuals diagnosed are over 65, early-onset Alzheimer'saffects about 4,000 people under this age. Women are disproportionately affected, representing approximately two-thirds of those with dementia. These statistics highlight the growing challenge Alzheimer's poses to Ireland’s healthcare system. Please donate or take part in Memory Walk 2024
Our Head of Fundraising Mairead Dillon speaks about the importance of our Alzheimer's Memory Walk Campaign in this moving video. Last year, we aimed to host a Memory Walk in every county in Ireland and we succeeded. This year we have Memory Walks in 40 locations nationwide. If you'd like to sign up for Memory Walk and raise funds for the 64,000 people living with dementia in Ireland, please see memorywalk.ie. #ASIMemoryWalk2024 #LetsWalkTogether
