I really enjoyed the #sfavegas Conference—and especially the panel on Receivables Finance and the Role of Fintech with Merryn Craske of Morgan Lewis and Advait Joshi from BNP Paribas. A few reflections on the conference: 1) Basel Endgame as currently proposed is a threat to the securitization industry, and this will impact availability and cost of funds for corporate clients; 2) For Middle Market clients, interest cover ratios are approaching a dangerous level; 3) Corporates are struggling with managing reporting requirements for securitizations of receivables—they still conduct such processes manually and are increasingly open to reporting tools such as the Demica solution.
