With the cost to environment and animal welfare, this has to be the way forward. Animal protein without slaughter, without endless impact to the environment and still, for those desperate for a steak, the choice. Livestock farming is already precarious financially. This has to be an industry changing technology and will surely render it no longer viable in the midterm future on such a vast scale - used only for cell production in the future.

April 30th 2024, Southern Curious Cockies, Balfour, Southland The group visited a farm exploring crossing dairy breeds to find their ideal animal; smaller, good production and invisible in the mob (no problems). An interesting conversation explored the difference between BW and following pedigrees when choosing breeding stock. This difference makes a significant impact on production, however, a high producing, low BW herd will always be second fiddle to a high BW, low producing herd in the sharemilking game. I find it surprising how many farmers who consider themselves conventional questioning industry advice. We also looked at a property where grazing management had wobbled causing a lot of mature feed and discussed management options to get on top of that. We had a good look at Kiwitech trough systems as stock water was an issue.  

‏Following my experiences and observations, I am following a case that I am waiting to read your comments with a question. 🤔🤔🤔🤔 ‏Can high vegetative growth in different plant species( tomato,cucumber, pepper, maize, squash &...) be an indicator for selection hybrids or inbredlines tolerant to salinity and high nitrogen absorption coefficient ? 💥💥💥💥💥 ‏You may have come across such cases in your experiments, productions, breeding and experiences. 🥸🙂🫥 ‏I specifically follow the issue in greenhouse tomatoes, greenhouse cucumbers and .greenhouse peppers 🥒🍅🍆🌶️
