A MUST READ- for anyone interested or involved in the offsite construction industry! In 2024, Steve Dubin entered a new role at Rmax, A Sika Brand with a sole focus in the offsite construction market. To better understand the market Steve traveled the country and visited over 40 offsite construction factories. "I work for a company that manufactures rigid polyiso insulation, and my goal is to help modular and other offsite builders make their homes more energy-efficient and weather-resistant." "But I was also on another mission. As an active member of the Modular Home Builders Association and the Modular Building Institute, I wanted to learn more about where the industry stands as a whole. So, I’ll be sharing some general insights as well." Find out what Steve learned from his 40+ visits in the full article below... A good article from the US on the benefits of switching from stick to panel construction. Note we manufacture PU SIP better lamda, better insulate, thinner wall construction or higher u values if compared with EPS (polystyrene). Another point re electrics generally SIP in the UK is framed on the inside with 2x1 timbers to for a service void for electrics, it is quicker and easier to wire a sip build in comparison to traditional timber kit.
"Builders who have switched to Structural Insulated Panels say that more builders would use them if they understood the benefits." Excited to see that Premier SIPS builders Evan Kinsley of Spiegel Kinsley Construction and Ted Clifton of Clifton View Homes & Zero-Energy Plans are featured in OFFSITE Builder Magazine An excellent article featuring the reasons these builders made the switch to SIPs. https://lnkd.in/ewDjx2Dh

"Building envelope" is a new term for me, but it makes sense and should be part of the overall maintenance plan for your facility. While the shift to more sustainable material usage and focus on environmental concerns is a good thing overall, I can see how this might impact the quality and durability of materials used in building infrastructure. It's a delicate balance and one that will have to be monitored closely. It's exciting at the same time to see the advancements in building technology!

Have you considered the thermal efficiency advantages that Single Ply roofing can bring to your property? Well, there are several which include: · Lower heating costs by using a warm roof insulation installation method · Withstanding solar heating · Reduced Overheating by using a ballasted installation method Firstly, using a warm roof insulation installation method is all about the order of the roofing materials, during installation. A warm roof is created by applying the insulation over the top of the existing roof surface. This allows for the insulation to keep the entire roof structure warm, which helps to prevent any loss of heating through the roof joints/fixtures. Furthermore, this can impact your buildings heating costs as it would lower the need for central heating. To read more about the thermal benefits which single ply can provide, check out our news page over on our website. https://lnkd.in/dz7uqXA #Singleply #FlatRoofing #Construction #MainContractor #Roofing #Architects #Knowledge #Thermal #Benefits #Architects #Lancashire #NorthWest #GreaterManchester The Single Ply Roofing Association (SPRA) Jake Clarke Teruka Taylor Paul Gibney Claire Holden Ben O'Connor

Modular construction seems like such an obvious solution to many of the construction industry's current issues such as productivity, speed and labour. Yet it struggles in North America in comparison to many other parts of the world. There are challenges here that make our market different, of course. However, the key to success appears to be repeatability at scale.
