[Reducing 10% of its debt] It's currently in a push to give up its conglomerate status and focus mostly on being a metals business based largely out of SA. Nampak announced a R450 million deal to sell its SA liquid cartons business, as well as units in Malawi and Zambia, to a consortium. Nampak, valued at about R1.4 billion on the JSE, has been grappling with a net debt pile that stood at R4.6 billion at the end of September. https://lnkd.in/dMiD-sWX

"Painkillers and vitamins are both difficult to make but it's far easier to sell a painkiller" Doesn't this ring a bell? Compare selling long-term investment instruments to short-term ones in Ghana. From a sales point of view, it makes a lot more sense if your business chooses painkillers over vitamins. But where the goals of your business are far above and beyond mere sales figures, it will certainly make more sense to choose vitamins over painkillers. And right here, one can emphasize the world of difference it makes to choose long-term investment instruments over short-term ones, especially in developing countries like Ghana. Stock Exchanges and Crowdfunding Intermediaries by design promote long-term investments into profitable businesses. #investment P.C: Foundr
