Great plan! However, as statistics show at the current day the system could utilize 0.6 GW of RE only. Uzbekistan at the moment has limited reserve capacity to keep the system stable. Last year, the full lockdown showed that it is extremely important 50% of the amount of installed capacity is kept as a reserve. It is hard to develop the 6 GW reserve capacity with 3GW hot reserve as the system, required within the next 3-5 years. I believe the Ministry of Energy remembered it before installing and adding the 6 GW RE to the Uzbekistan Energy system. The Law of Physics could not be changed by government decree, I believe we remember it too.
Intermittent and volatile, non-synchronous, but sustainable, clean energy generations have already started generating and will soon increase more generation on our national grid system. Please share your experience and thoughts on the optimal integration of large-scale solar and wind power to keep the grid stable (minimum reserve capacity, BESS, and other management options). We have done power system studies yet still need some suggestions and ideas from best international practices. Installed solar and wind share will reach nearly 50% by 2030. #gridreliability #renewablepower #utilityscale #bess #smartgrids

"We need a grid that is built for the next 60 years, not the next 20 years". Bold words from John Pettigrew, CEO, National Grid. In his keynote address, John likens the crossroad we are at today to the grid challenges faced by engineers in the 1950s. Back then, the first high voltage ‘supergrid’ enabled growth in key UK industries, alongside major benefits for consumers. Today, we are expecting huge changes in the make-up of our power system as demand is expected to double between now and 2050, whilst new wind and solar capacity will be distributed across the country. Whilst incremental grid improvements are necessary, John highlights the need to be courageous to deliver an 800,000 volt 'super super-grid’ that will serve future generations. #AuroraSpringForum #renewables #grids #SuperSuperGrid #decarbonisation #EnergyTransition #NetZero

The decarbonisation targets set by the Fit For 55 package and the RePowerEU plan, foreseeing 42.5% of renewables in the electricity mix by 2030, entail massive changes in the energy system. A tremendous amount of RES and low-carbon generation is to be added to the system by 2030, which will mostly be directly connected to the distribution grid. What changes to the #energy system will impact the grid? 👉 Swipe to find out!
