Bioimpedance spectroscopy (BIS) is important for heart failure patients because it provides a non-invasive and accurate way to assess and monitor fluid status in the body, which is crucial for managing heart failure. BIS measures the body’s impedance (resistance to electrical flow) to estimate fluid volumes, helping clinicians detect fluid overload early before symptoms worsen. By measuring changes in thoracic impedance, bioimpedance techniques can detect fluid accumulation in the lungs, indicative of pulmonary oedema. This condition is common in heart failure patients and requires prompt treatment. Monitoring extracellular water (ECW) is crucial for detecting fluid overload in heart failure patients, as excessive ECW can indicatesfluid retention, leading to worsening symptoms and hospitalizations. Now we know that people with hemophilia have at least the same cardiovascular risk as their non-hemophilia counterparts. What about their electrocardiographic traces? A few studies described electrocardiographic traces in people with hemophilia. We checked them in Brazilian patients, according to different parmeters.
