I just realized this recently, Pediatric nurses are highly regarded and respected for their exceptional qualities. After spending some quality years in the field….. Here are few reasons: 1. Heartfelt dedication: It is very difficult to see a sick child die without running around for one or two things, Pediatric nurses genuinely care about their young patients and their families, often going above and beyond to ensure their well-being. Pediatric nurses truly make a difference in the lives of children and families, and their love and dedication shine through in everything they do! 2. Compassionate care: They provide gentle, kind, and empathetic care to children, making them feel at ease and secure. 3. Patience and understanding: Pediatric nurses have a special ability to connect with children and their families, understanding their worries and anxieties. 4. Playful and creative: They utilize play therapy and creative techniques to make medical procedures less daunting and more enjoyable for young patients. 5. Advocates for children's health: Pediatric nurses are committed to advocating for children's health, well-being, and growth. 6. Specialized knowledge: They possess extensive knowledge of pediatric medicine, development, and psychology. #viral #nursing #pediatrics #nmcn #midwifery

🚨 Understanding the Pediatric Assessment Triangle (PAT) 🚨 In pediatric care, quick and accurate assessment can make all the difference. That’s where the Pediatric Assessment Triangle (PAT)comes in — a rapid assessment tool designed to help healthcare professionals quickly determine the severity of a child’s illness or injury. The PAT consists of three key components: 1. Appearance: Is the child alert, interacting, or withdrawn? This tells us about the child’s neurological status and overall well-being. 2. Work of Breathing: Is the child breathing easily or showing signs of respiratory distress? Observing their breathing patterns can give us vital clues about their respiratory function. 3. Circulation to the Skin: How does the child’s skin look? Pallor, mottling, or cyanosis can signal circulatory problems or shock. The PAT allows us to assess critically ill children within seconds without the need for equipment. It’s all about recognizing patterns and responding swiftly to provide the right care at the right time. 🩺 Whether you're a pediatrician, nurse, or paramedic, mastering the Pediatric Assessment Triangle can save lives! #Pediatrics #Healthcare #EmergencyCare #MedicalEducation #PediatricNursing #ChildHealth #HealthcareManagement #nurses #registerednurses #midwives #CME This should resonate with both healthcare professionals and those interested in child health and emergency care.

Private-duty nursing (PDN) is essential for children with complex medical needs, providing personalized care at home or school. It improves health outcomes, reduces hospital readmissions, and saves costs by offering consistent care and supporting both medical and developmental needs. PDN is more cost-effective than hospital care, reducing costs by up to 90%, while also easing the caregiving burden on parents. https://lnkd.in/gjDZbbwr #PrivateDutyNursing #PediatricCare #ComplexMedicalNeeds #HomeCare #HealthcareSupport #CostEffectiveCare #ContinuityOfCare #NursingCare #FamilySupport #HealthOutcomes

Nursing is a profession that demands resilience, adaptability, and unwavering dedication. But what happens when the challenges of pregnancy and motherhood intersect with the demands of a nurse's job? I'm leading a research project titled "Exploring Nurses’ Experiences and Perceptions of Working During Pregnancy: A Photovoice Study" at NUS Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies As a first-time mother myself, I intimately understand the struggles of balancing work and family commitments. This project is close to my heart because it sheds light on the often overlooked experiences of pregnant and postpartum nurses in fast-paced clinical environments. Inspired by my own journey as a new mother navigating academia, I embarked on this research to understand the unique challenges faced by nurses during pregnancy and postpartum. Thanks to the support of the WISH&EOCD Equal Opportunities & Career Development (EOCD) Seed Grant 2023, we're capturing nurses' experiences through their own lens—literally! The powerful stories behind each submitted photo are shaping the narrative of our study. Our discussions have been eye-opening, revealing unexpected insights into the resilience and support networks within the nursing community. From the challenges of navigating physical demands to the importance of workplace accommodations, every photo tells a compelling story. Are you a pregnant or postpartum nurse eager to share your story? Or perhaps you know someone who would benefit from participating in this vital research? We're actively seeking participants and allies to amplify our impact and drive positive change. Let's spark meaningful conversations, shape future policies, and champion support for our incredible nursing community. Together, we can make a difference! The University of California, San Francisco is facing criticism for its decision to discontinue its master's program in nurse-midwifery, a move that has been met with howls of protest from alumni, health policy experts, and faculty. The change will more than double the cost to students, and will require them to complete a doctoral degree to become certified nurse-midwives. The move is part of a national movement to require all advanced-practice registered nurses, including nurse-midwives and nurse practitioners, to earn doctoral degrees. However, the deadline for this requirement, which was set by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing in 2004, has yet to be met. The switch to doctoral education is seen as a potential barrier to potential applicants, as it will more than double the cost to students. The switch also comes amid a national maternal mortality crisis and a growing reliance on midwives, which has led to calls for more providers from diverse backgrounds. What are your thoughts on this move by UCSF? Do you think it will have a positive or negative impact on the nursing profession and patient care?
