I will be at International Fresh Produce Association Show in Atlanta next week! 🍇 🚛🍓 I LOVE shipping produce! There’s something so rewarding about making sure fresh, delicious food gets from farm to table. But let’s be real—it’s not without its challenges. 🌱 Timing is everything when it comes to fresh goods. That’s why I made it my mission to become a pro at navigating tight windows, transit times, and even weather hiccups. 🥬 Temperature control? A make-or-break deal! I know firsthand the importance of keeping leafy greens at their perfect chill, because pink lettuce doesn't sell. And communication is key. Whether it’s a driver stuck in traffic or a warehouse needing a status update, I’m on it before the first watermelon rolls out of the truck!🍉 Every shipment is a fresh challenge, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Oooh Jerrycans (Jerricans?) I need to talk about Jerrycans, or jerricans as some people spell it. Before I begin, which is the correct spelling, does anyone know? Spelling aside, I’ve never known such a small product to cause this many operational difficulties. Over the last 12 months, we’ve had supply chain issues, price increases, extended lead times and no stock availability. All this has been challenging to manage with our customers and arduous on our PurePac processes. Our extensive warehouse space has allowed us to increase our stock holdings across the size ranges 2L through to 30L. Additionally, we always offer jerrycan ranges from four different manufacturers. These two factors have saved the PurePac ‘bacon’ on many occasions. Our fleet has not only saved the PurePac bacon but the sausages too! As when emergencies happen and we can’t wait for the manufacturer to deliver, we send one of our vehicles to collect. Here we have 25L Black Jerrycans arriving at our Heartlands warehouse to bolster stocks.
