The Queensland Government has handed down its 2024-25 State Budget, which has revealed $107.3 billion in funding for the State’s significant infrastructure pipeline over the next four years. Key investment include: ▪️ $5.5 billion for the construction of a new 37.8-kilometre Direct Sunshine Coast Rail Line between Beerwah and Maroochydore. ▪️ $3.026 billion for Stage One of the Coomera Connector, providing an alternative route for the growing communities and commercial hubs of Helensvale and Coomera. ▪️ $1.730 billion for the Rockhampton Ring Road construction ▪️ $1.162 billion for Cooroy to Curra (Section D) construction ▪️ $948 million for upgrades between the Gateway Motorway and Dohles Rocks Road (Stage 1) ▪️ $336 million for a Tiaro bypass to improve flood immunity, safety, and efficiency. ▪️ $1.219 billion for the third stage of the Gold Coast Light Rail, adding eight new stations. ▪️ $5.75 billion committed to the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail upgrade, increasing tracks between Kuraby and Beenleigh from two to four, with modernized rail systems, station upgrades, and level crossing removals. The Road Act 2019 empowers the Minister of Works and Transport to provide for different widths for road reserves for the different classes of public roads. Under the old Roads Act, the width of a road reserve was set at fifty feet from the centre line of any road. The new provision allows for flexibility in determining the width of road reserves and can be wider depending on the classification of the road. The consideration behind this provision was to provide for a long-term solution to address traffic jams within the cities, urban areas and along highways *inspection of kyankwazi access roads to the pipeline right of way together with EACOP team and local leaders from the district and subcounty
