I Help CEO’s, Business Owners and Entrepreneurs to find their unbreakable spirit & solve Leadership & Management adversities | Leadership & Resilience Coach | 5y Hostage | 35y CEO Citgo Petroleum | Speaker | Author
“Gratitude in 2023 and Aspirations for 2024: Navigating from Captivity to Advocacy” Reflecting on the blessings of 2023, I find gratitude in the journey from adversity to resilience that I want to share with you in this short video As I step into 2024, here are my main goals: 1. Book Launch: This December marked the culmination of my pre-order campaign for “From Hero to Villain-The True Story of the Citgo 6,” sharing my memoirs after enduring five years as a hostage. The book is set to be published in January, and I’m eager to share this transformative narrative. 2. Leadership Role in a Reputable Foundation: Embracing a new dimension in 2024, I aspire to become the Executive Director or external advisor of a reputable foundation or nonprofit. Leveraging my management expertise, I aim to contribute meaningfully to a cause that aligns with my values . 3. Leadership and Resilience Coaching: I aim to further refine my coaching program, welcoming new high-ticket clients from the energy sector in Houston. Strengthening leadership and resilience remains a focal point of my professional journey. 4. Speaking Engagement Evolution: Shifting gears in my signature speaking gig, “From Captivity to Freedom,” my commitment extends beyond colleges and universities. I aspire to reach a wider audience, particularly children, fostering resilience and imparting the wisdom gained from overcoming adversity. 5. Advocacy Against Hostage Diplomacy: Building on my efforts in 2023, I will persist in spreading my voice through various mediums—TV and radio interviews, media articles, newsletters, and podcast appearances. My mission is to raise awareness and condemn the heinous practice of “hostage diplomacy.” 6. Community Involvement: Continuing collaboration with hostage community foundations, I’m dedicated to supporting their mission. Additionally, my focus is on actively engaging with Congress to advocate for legislative changes that provide greater support to hostage families. Embarking on 2024, my journey unfolds as a testament to resilience, advocacy, and a commitment to positive change. #BookLaunch #LeadershipJourney #AdvocacyMission

🌍 Award Winning Social Entrepreneur & Community Leader 👩🏽💻Building an Inclusive Digital Economy 🇿🇦Promoting Township Growth ➡️Making Success Tangible
Dear SA (Dear South Africa) is a non-profit platform that provides the public with an opportunity to contribute to all government policies, amendments, and proposals. It offers ordinary South Africans a platform to engage with policymakers and share their thoughts on various policies that directly impact their lives. Since its launch in 2018, Dear SA has built a large and active participant network of over 1 million individuals and has successfully run numerous campaigns. One of its recent campaigns, the "2024 Budget - Make Your Voice Count" campaign, received suggestions from the public, which were then forwarded to the Treasury by the Minister of Finance, Mr. Enoch Godongwana. In line with their belief in the potential of young people to make positive impacts across society, Dear SA introduced the Dear SA Young Leaders Awards 2024. This initiative aims to encourage, acknowledge, and reward young South Africans who are making tangible differences in their communities or nationwide across five categories: Politics & Government, Civil Society, Business, Sports/Culture, Environment, and Media. I am thrilled to announce that I have been nominated in the Media category. My presence in the media industry has been established, and I have received recognition for my work. In 2020, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, I founded Millennial Mindset Media, a social media marketing agency that connects brands with customers through various social media platforms. However, my interests extend beyond business and media. I have a strong passion for community work, which led me to establish Millennial Mindset Foundation. Our foundation aims to empower young people in our community with digital skills, access to information and books, and support their households through a feeding scheme. I believe that Dear SA's mission aligns with mine, and it is an immense honour for me to be nominated. HOW YOU CAN HELP: By casting your vote on the Dear SA website at https://lnkd.in/dw_XJW5A. Vote for Marcia Monareng under the Media category.

Burnie Works exists to help the Burnie community make changes that improve lives. We do this by walking alongside community, ensuring every voice, no matter how quiet, is valued and heard in our mission to bring about positive change. We know that when we build the knowledge, skills, and experience of the people in Burnie, we strengthen our ability to drive positive change together. To help do this, we have designed a program to deliver Community Capability Building workshops for our community – get ready for an incredible twelve months of community empowerment in Burnie! The program consists of several workshops. Each is aimed at building people’s knowledge, skills and abilities. The program includes topics such as diversity and inclusion, community leadership, understanding generations, advocacy, power dynamics, and local data; how to collect it, how to use it, and why. These topics have been carefully selected based on our experience, conversations with community, and valuable feedback from past workshop participants. We have also chosen topics that align with our organisational goals and values. Burnie Works Chair Jacqueline de Jonge said, “We are incredibly grateful that our community has received funding for such an important program. When we learn together, we can apply what we’ve learned together. We can move forward with a shared aspiration and plan for change.” The Burnie Works team is eager to connect with new and familiar faces and is excited about the opportunity to learn and grow together to create positive change. Get on the mailing list to receive invitations to workshops when registrations open https://lnkd.in/gzsdewwq We are fortunate to be able to deliver this program thanks to funding from the Australian Government and the Stronger Places, Stronger People initiative. Reflecting on My Experience with the Youth Leaders Civil Society Program :) I am honored to have participated in the #Youth_Leaders_Civil_Society_Program, an #EU initiative in collaboration with the #Anna_Lindh_Foundation. This enriching experience provided me with countless opportunities for #learning, #networking, and #project_development. Here are some key highlights from this incredible #journey: 🔹 Visits to the #Arab_League and #EU_Headquarters in #Egypt: Engaging in discussions on regional cooperation and the role of civil society was profoundly enlightening. A memorable moment was meeting the EU Ambassador, where we had an insightful dialogue about the EU's support for #youth_initiatives and civil society across the Mediterranean. 🔹 Workshops and Training Sessions: The program featured numerous workshops focused on concept notes and project mentoring. The mentorship and feedback received were invaluable, significantly enhancing the quality and feasibility of our proposals. I presented my project on sustainable agriculture, which received approval for implementation starting this July. 🔹 Bootcamp: This intensive training covered project management, advocacy, and leadership skills, contributing immensely to my personal and professional development. Workshops in Alexandria further addressed critical issues such as food insecurity, the role of activists, and the support needed for youth initiatives. These sessions underscored the amazing work being done by youth and the importance of continued support across the Mediterranean. 🔹 Addressing Food Insecurity: We explored innovative solutions and the vital role of civil society in mitigating this issue. The discussions highlighted the crucial role of activists in driving change and the types of support necessary for their effectiveness. Through this program, I gained valuable skills in project management, advocacy, and leadership. I also established a network of like-minded individuals and organizations committed to addressing key regional issues. These connections will be pivotal for future collaborations and initiatives. The Youth Leaders Civil Society Program has significantly contributed to my growth as a leader and advocate. I am excited to implement my sustainable agriculture project and continue working towards sustainable development and youth empowerment in the region. #YouthLeadership #CivilSociety #EUInitiative #AnnaLindhFoundation #SustainableDevelopment #YouthEmpowerment #ProjectManagement #Advocacy #Leadership #Networking #ycslp #alf Fundação Anna Lindh MED DIALOGUE FOR RIGHTS AND EQUALITY II
