CargoX is a part of a chain of sustainability in protecting forests, while helping the Brits have a good barbecue. Cue The BBQ, a UK company that produces high-quality charcoal and other products for outdoor cooking, has switched to electronic trade documents, including the CargoX Platform. This allows them to import ethically sourced wood products from their plants in South Africa to the UK. By cutting red tape with paperless exports they managed to save between $100 and $200 per container, bringing them immediate savings of up to $10,000 per month. Their success story was possible because since last year’s adoption of the Electronic Trade Document Act in the UK, which gives digital trade documents the same legal status as their traditional paper counterparts.
