Hello everyone, in this brief update, I’ll cover the must-see highlights from Episode #1246 of the Elevate Construction Podcast. Catch up on the crucial points and exciting discussions! In this episode, we dive into one of the biggest challenges in construction: roadblocks. Whether it’s weather, changes to the plan, or supply shortages, we often find ourselves facing hurdles that can derail progress. But here's the key takeaway—identifying and addressing these roadblocks early can make all the difference in keeping the train of trades on track. We break down the different types of roadblocks: 1. Zone Roadblocks: These include weather delays, design changes, lack of planning, or work areas not being ready. It's all about foresight and preparation to ensure your site is prepped and ready for action. 2. Supply Roadblocks: Missing materials, tools, or skilled labor can cause major disruptions. Early planning and securing resources are crucial to prevent costly delays. 3. Site Conditions: Poor drainage, soil issues, and site access can stop work in its tracks. Managing these conditions ahead of time is key to avoiding setbacks. 4.The Role of Team Vigilance: Just like a lifeguard scanning the pool, it's important to consistently "scan" the environment for potential roadblocks. Using tools like drone footage and team collaboration can help spot and resolve issues before they arise. The bottom line? Roadblocks don’t have to stop you—they just need to be identified and cleared. Link to the full episode: https://lnkd.in/gKRn8UTQ (Summary developed using AI)

Traditional build Vs MMC... Traditional building is fairly widely accepted as bricks, blocks, timber and concrete. There are numerous forms of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and the list continues to grow. Many traditional builds have elements of MMC nowadays. There are pros and cons to both and it’s not always easy to work out what’s most viable (in terms of both sustainability and financial viability) for a project. I’ve recently launched a new business that helps answer the question.
