Have you heard Your bloodwork is NORMAL....see you in another year?" You're not the only one. I hear this all the time in my office when I am going over blood work with my patients. Blood work can be normal, but you can still have issues with your health OR I usually look over labs and find that things are out of range when your primary care has said otherwise. This is because I look at your blood work through a functional medicine lense. I focus on preventative medicine and catching anything earlier rather than later when it comes to your health. Symptoms appear earlier than lab works shows, so it is important to address issues early on. The 3 stages of care in my office are... 1. IDENTIFY 2. TREAT 3. PREVENT I identify the root cause of your health concerns and treat with a personalized functional medicine approach for each patient. Once treatment heals you, we then work to prevent these issues from reoccurring. My goal is for you to maintain ideal health and not wait as long the next time something comes up. Does this resonate with you? Have you heard time and time again that your labs are normal but you still experience health issues? Has a doctor prescribed you medications for such issues and not asked you about your diet, lifestyle, environmental exposures, work, etc.? DAY 20 "What if I told you that a simple medical checkup could save your life?" ✨ It's easy to underestimate the importance of regular health and medical checkups. Many of us feel fine and think, "Why bother?" But the truth is, our bodies can be silently dealing with issues we aren't even aware of. Regular checkups are crucial for detecting potential health problems early. Early detection often means easier, more effective treatment. Think of it like regular maintenance for your car—it's better to catch and fix small issues before they turn into big, costly problems. The same goes for our bodies. When we neglect our health, we risk allowing conditions to develop unnoticed. High blood pressure, diabetes, and certain cancers often have no symptoms in the early stages. By the time we feel something is wrong, it might be much harder to treat. A medical checkup can provide peace of mind, reassurance, and a clear picture of your overall health. It's also a chance to get personalized advice from your doctor on how to maintain or improve your health, tailored to your unique needs and lifestyle. Remember, health isn't just about treating illness—it's about preventing it. Let's prioritize our well-being and make regular checkups a part of our health routine. Take a step towards a healthier future. Schedule that checkup you've been putting off. Your future self will thank you! 🌟 #HealthIsWealth #StayHealthy #PreventiveCare #MedicalCheckup #WellnessJourney

Two more topics for #MensHealthWeek today Starting with Heart Health... Being a heart is a man-sized job these days. Hearts tend to get forgotten, even taken for granted. Bad idea. Clench your fist. Stick it in the middle of your chest. Yep, that’s about the length and breadth of a lump of muscle which can never rest, designed only for action. There’s absolutely nothing it likes better than a challenge, getting its valves ticking and blood rushing to every part of the body. (https://lnkd.in/e6XfQDMU) Also did you know 1 man in 10 now has diabetes. It's on the increase and, if undiagnosed, can be very dangerous. About 4.6 million people in the UK are living with diabetes and around 12.3 million are at increased risk of it. There are two main types of diabetes: type 1 which you can't avoid and type 2 which you can. These FAQs will be particularly useful for people who have been told they at risk of type 2 or have been recently diagnosed. (https://lnkd.in/ehpgc23g)

As a nurse, I've had a front-row seat to the drama that unfolds when we neglect our health. Imagine our organs holding tiny picket signs saying 'Check-ups, not chaos!' 😂 funny right? Regular check-ups aren't just a chore; they're your body's early warning system. Blood pressure checks, cholesterol screenings, and routine exams - they're the superheroes in the battle against health villains! (Take this from me to you) Think of it this way, it's like sending in spies to catch trouble before it starts a riot. (Why am I laughing at my writing pattern today 😂 well let’s continue) Early detection can nip potential health issues in the bud, making sure you stay ahead of the curve. So, make that appointment, schedule those tests, and let your body be the fortress it deserves to be! Please 🙏 All the health professionals share your own stories below, let's inspire each other to stay on the path of wellness! #HealthTalkWithNurseCollins #NurseCollins #HealthEducation #preventivecare #RegularMedicalCheckUps
