A new AI & Music report is out with some nice insights 🕵♂️ . This study was produced by the research institute “Goldmedia” on behalf of GEMA and SACEM and throws light onto the impact of generative AI on the music business in Germany 🇩🇪 and France 🇫🇷 . The sample is 15,000 musicians and publishers, not bad! ➡ Music 🎶 accounts for around 8% of the overall $3.7bn generative-AI market 🤖 . That would mean around $300m of AI-music revenues in 2023. ➡ The study claims AI music will be a $3bn market by 2028 🚀 ➡ 43% agreed that AI can open up new forms of creativity, but 64% think the risks of AI use outweigh its potential opportunities ⚖ ➡ 71% of the creators surveyed also said they are "afraid that the use of AI for music could lead to music creators no longer being able to make a living from their work" 😨 ➡ The scope is to encourage policymakers and legislators 👩⚖️ in Europe to protect the IP/rights owners.
