In cooperation with the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra and a restaurant in our area, my action team plans to do a fundraiser. Funds will be used to build a scholarship to help low-income children, who wish to learn how to play an instrument, to rent or buy instruments and receive private lessons. We plan to use the $250.00 to rent a restaurant and help to cater a dinner, which the money raised, along with the revenue raised on the Thrivent Fundraiser Website, will be donated to the scholarship we started last year. My team will be working the room on the night of the event to raise more funds. I will be working the internet to increase funds prior to the event, and to get reservations for the dinner. The symphony CEO and others will be working their network to get participation in the event and on the fundraising website. The outcomes we are planning on are as follows: 1. Build enough revenue to offer between 10 and 15 full scholarships to the Youth Symphony Orchestra for students under 150% of the poverty level, this includes lessons and instruments...cost = $5,000.00 to $7,500.00. 2. Give some marginalized youth an opportunity they wouldn't have otherwise had. 3. Breakdown, if only slightly, the disadvantages kids from smaller rural and mid-city youth have, with regard to musicianship in their pre-high school years (most school districts have eliminated their music and arts programs in the elementary and middle school levels). 4. Create a minor, though important, economic impact for those marginalized youth. In Support Of Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra https://lnkd.in/e-8V-pTG
