Hey Tina, What’s love got to do with this? Absolutely everything, if you’re talking about modular construction with cold-formed steel. Let me explain. Picture this: You're a regular person, just trying to build a house without losing your mind. Traditional construction methods have you in tears by the end of the first week, and that’s before you’ve even picked out the right shade of “Eggshell White” for your bathroom. Enter modular construction with cold-formed steel. It's like finding true love in the world of building materials. First off, cold-formed steel is strong. It’s like the superhero of building materials. If Captain America were a construction material, he'd be cold-formed steel. This stuff can withstand all sorts of calamities: hurricanes, earthquakes, and even a toddler's relentless quest to color on every wall. Plus, it doesn’t warp, rot, or become a tasty snack for termites. If it were a person, it’d be the kind who shows up early to help you move and never complains. Now, let’s talk modular. In the construction world, modular means you get to assemble your building like it’s a giant LEGO set. You know you’ve always wanted to live in a LEGO house. Modular construction takes the chaos of a traditional building site and replaces it with the satisfying click of pieces snapping perfectly into place. It’s like Marie Kondo visited your construction site and tidied it up. But here’s the real kicker: modular construction with cold-formed steel is fast. Traditional construction is like watching paint dry—literally. Modular construction? It’s like paint that dries itself while you drink your coffee. Wait, all paint does that. Whatever, your building goes up so quickly, you’ll think someone hit fast-forward on reality. It’s like magic, but with fewer rabbits and more structural integrity. So, what’s love got to do with it? Everything. Because once you experience the strength, efficiency, and sheer joy of modular construction with cold-formed steel, you’ll never look back. Your relationship with traditional construction methods will be over faster than you can say “building permit.” #ConstructionLoveStory #ModularMagic #ColdFormedSteel #BuildItBetter #Modular #CFS #ADU #ModularHousing #OffsiteConstruction

I've been thinking... More about the types of projects we perform. I love that we have the ability to perform traditional's like old school—brick and mortar, stick-built framing, wooden frames on site, concrete pouring. It's what we're used to. But modular? Prefab modules, constructing building sections or modules off-site; building wall panels, floor panels, and roof panels off-site, which are then transported and assembled at the construction site. Modular pods—all built off-site, then assembled like Legos on-site, so cool! It's faster, cheaper, and more efficient. Definitely worth considering for quick projects. #traditionalconstruction #modularconstruction #buildinginnovation #constructionmethods #efficiencyinconstruction

Do you have a machine shed that could use a facelift? Building recovers are the perfect option for saving time and money; a couple things we all could use more of! A 26-gauge Kynar painted metal will typically last on average 40 years with minimal fade with a 29-gauge SMP painted metal being substantially shorter. Typical building recovers are completed in a quick and timely manner and can reduce project costs by as much as one to two-thirds vs. new construction! 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐓𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 & 𝐃𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 Today on The Build Review, we're taking you on a tour of a basement project in Austin, Texas. Our host, Matt Risinger, a builder experienced in unconventional projects, invites architect Steve for an in-depth review of this unique construction. In the video, they discuss the challenges of building in Austin’s rocky terrain, the importance of natural light in basements, and the use of a large sliding glass door for illumination. They also cover design details like a home exercise room and a concrete sill pan. Practical aspects of basement construction such as drainage systems, rust prevention with fiberglass ties, and the concept of ‘aging in place’ are also highlighted, with the installation of an elevator for the homeowner's long-term convenience being a key feature. While basements can be costly and slow to construct, and can sometimes lead to maintenance issues, careful planning and a meticulous approach can mitigate these concerns. #Construction #BuildingTips #Basements #HouseBuilds #Design

And with the proper design, it can be hardened against most perils and become a generational home. https://lnkd.in/e8DtaDix
Ah, the romance of wood framing. There’s something poetically nostalgic about hammering nails into timber, as if you’re building your very own log cabin in the woods. But let’s take off those rose-colored safety goggles and get real for a moment. Wood framing, dear friends, is like that unreliable high school sweetheart – it looks great at first, but then the relationship starts to rot. Literally. Picture this: It’s a bright sunny day, perfect for construction. You’ve got your crew, your blueprints, and a stack of wood that cost a small fortune. Life is good. Then, without warning, the heavens open up. Rain pours down, soaking your precious wood. Fast forward a few months, and those beams have turned into a soggy mess that makes a sponge look dry. Termites have moved in, turning your dream project into an all-you-can-eat buffet. And don’t even get me started on the warping and twisting – your building might just start doing the cha-cha when the wind blows. Now, let’s switch to the hero of our story: cold-formed steel framing. Imagine a building material that doesn’t whimper at the sight of rain, doesn’t invite pests to dinner, and stays straight as an arrow, no matter the weather. Cold-formed steel is the dependable, low-maintenance partner every builder dreams of. It's like upgrading from a rickety rowboat to a sleek, unsinkable yacht. Cold-formed steel framing isn’t just about avoiding headaches (though it does that remarkably well). It’s about longevity, sustainability, and peace of mind. Steel doesn’t rot, warp, or catch fire. It’s strong, yet lightweight, making installation a breeze. And in the grand scheme of construction, it’s an eco-friendly choice, as steel is highly recyclable. So next time you’re planning a build, consider this: Do you want a partner that dances in the rain without turning into a puddle? Choose cold-formed steel and leave the soggy logs and termite-infested timber behind. Your future self – and your building – will thank you. #CFS #OffsiteConstruction #Prefabrication #Modular #ColdFormedSteel #MultifamilyConstruction #Developer
