How to get the most out of your tailoring: An extra pair of trousers or skirt.  For women, it can sometimes be useful to have an alternative trouser silhouette (such as a cigarette trouser and a wide-leg) or a pencil skirt or shorts, to help you create different looks out of the same suit jacket.  This can also help a suit jacket transition between seasons and work harder in your wardrobe.  For gentlemen an extra pair of trousers will help a suit that is being worn frequently to be on rotation in your wardrobe, and prevent the trousers from wearing out.  This is particularly useful if you are hard on your clothing as - with the demands of modern life - the majority of us are.
