As I reach the anniversary of my first year as the In-House Recruitment Partner at BRUSH Group (and what a year it’s been!), I’ve been reflecting on what this past year has taught me… 1) Taking a gamble on a fixed term contact can be scary, but one that can be worth taking. I joined BRUSH on a 12-month FTC, not sure what the outcome would be, but being offered a permanent role six months in was such an amazing feeling. 2) The difference between a 33kv and 132kv transformer – very important! 3) The importance of teamwork – I have such a supportive team around me who I know I can rely on, which leads me to point four…. 4) What I am capable of achieving – I am very proud that year to date I have supported 71 people in joining the Group and starting their careers in this fantastic business - bring on the rest of 2024! 5) Benefit of getting involved in the wider business – I joined our Wellbeing Committee, and it has helped me broaden my network across the Group. Did I ever think my career would take me into the world of transformers, switchgear, and engineering solutions? Honestly, no, but I have been amazed at the career opportunities this industry can offer and I am so excited to see what’s next! #joinBRUSH #career #transformer #switchgear #electricalengineering #professionaldevelopment #careeropportunities #careergoals #careerdevelopment

Founder Technician Find | Host of Technician Find Office Hours | Helping Independent Automotive Repair Shops Find Technicians Faster With Creative Ads and Social Media Marketing
Wish you could peek behind the curtain and find the best auto technicians NOT scrolling job boards?🤔 Imagine snapping a candid photo of your auto shop filled with hardworking, loyal techs, each deeply engrossed in their work, while you're planning your next vacation. Sounds like a dream, huh? Ever thought, 'Why can't I find quality techs who aren’t just hopping jobs?' Yep, it feels like trying to find a needle in a haystack. But what if I told you there's a way to tap into that goldmine of hidden talent – those not hanging around job portals? Exciting, right? Well, buckle up, let's dive in. It's all about social media, but not the boring, old-school way. It’s about writing unique ads that are compelling to technicians and talk about the benefits THEY receive when they come to work for you. Think deeply about what makes your shop stand out. What do your current employees like about working for you? How do you remove obstacles and make sure your team member’s lives work inside and outside of the shop? If a tech asked you in an interview, “Why should I go through the time and trouble and take the risk to leave my current job to work for you?” Would you have a good answer? And what if you rack your brain on these questions and you draw a blank? Well, this is exactly where you need to start. Put the time and effort into building your shop culture into something that will attract the caliber of employees you want on your team. It doesn’t work the other way around. Don’t be like the man standing in front of the stove saying, “give me heat then I’ll put in the wood.” Visualize this: Your shop, buzzing with committed technicians, each having your back. Your phone's notifications? No longer job applications, but vacation deal alerts. Your business grows, profits soar, and your nights? Well, they're peaceful and restful. Ready to change the game and open yourself up to a whole new world of good candidates? Post your next job on social media and give it a boost to show it to more of the right folks. You’ll be glad you did.😉🔧 #Jobs #Staffing #Employment #StaffingAgency #Repair #Auto #Hiring #Automotive #Mechanic #Technician #TechnicianFind #AutoRepair #AutoRepairShop"

What Industry Needs @ Universal Technical Institute in Avondale, AZ. Hanging out with Mr. Tom Varrone – Ford FACT Technical Team Leader (TTL) talking through these questions... What is industry looking for from entry level technicians? What is one intangible the industry is looking for from entry level technicians? If you could go back and give yourself a piece of advice, what would that be? How important is a “brand” mentality for those looking to enter this career field? GET THERE. FASTER. SMARTER.
