#China🇨🇳 Most national security professionals acknoweldge the threat posed by the People's Liberation Army (#PLA). What is far less understood, however, is how the #CCP uses non-traditional land forces--like #internal #police units and #paramilitaries--to accomplish the #Party's #geopolitical #objectives.

I don’t always agree with Ben Hodges as his outlook is different from mine based on his firsthand command experience. Most critically, I have heard the rumor that he thinks that the tuna casserole MRE meal was the best of the vintage 20th century field ration set. Of course, he is wrong, the spaghetti MRE meal was the best (lol). In the linked Dw News video, he does offer enlightening insights, analysis upon the counterattack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces into the Kursk region (of Russia). In any United States training course or school, emphasis is placed upon seizing the initiative, forcing the adversary react by disrupting the decision cycle. Ukraine astute practice of operational security clearly caught the Russian military and intelligence apparatus off guard. Consequently there was no preparation to adequately prepare for a counterattack as we are all watching unfold. That senior Russian military leadership ignored intelligence indicators that something was afoot. This points to the effectiveness of Ukraine to shape the information space, and the narrative, that it was unable to mount such a counterattack that is now in execution. This leads to complacency that tends to affect leadership reactions to intelligence that challenges the prevailing perceived narratives. If one isn’t challenging the prevailing narratives, one is following them. Given the scarcity of information released by the Ukraine regarding its counterattack on Russia, it leads me to believe that significant resources were “scrounged” to make the operation a reality (without directly depleting resources elsewhere). If the Ukraine has committed a brigade or more to its counter attack with air defense resources (to suppress or counter Russian home field air superiority), dislodging Ukrainian forces may become significantly problematic for Russia. And given the timing of F-16 arrival, an opportunity may present the Ukraine with offensive air possibilities enabling some level of maneuver warfare capability in that theater. Note this is highly speculative due to the absence of information. Conversely, the reallocation of resources from the forward edge of the battle area by Russia, may enable maneuver warfare in that theater with the benefit of some offensive air support. Of course, all this may have been a planned “spoiling raid” that has taken an unplanned life of its own due to dire cannibalization of military resources by Russia to support its invasion. I admit the possibility, however Ukrainian intelligence has performed quite well in identifying long range targets. It is unlikely the weaknesses in the current headline theater were not known. As this unfolds, more will become clear. Of pressing concern, is how will Russian senior leadership, particularly Putin, react if what appears as a spoiling raid turns out to be an effective counteroffensive?Enormous resources have expended in Putin’s adventure, his people will expect something to be shown for it.

The world's foremost expert in urban warfare, the United States Military Academy at West Point's Chair of Urban Warfare Studies at its Modern Warfare Institute, John Spencer, puts to rest once and for all the hypocritical, politically-motivated, and rabidly antisemitic criticism of Israel's military actions during this war against Hamas. Spencer explains in no uncertain terms why and how the Israel Defense Forces have operated with a never-before seen caution and morality when it comes to protecting the civilian populations of a most cowardly and international law-breaking enemy during wartime. "In their criticism, Israel's opponents are erasing a remarkable, historic new standard Israel has set. In my long career studying and advising on urban warfare for the U.S. military, I've never known an army to take such measures to attend to the enemy's civilian population, especially while simultaneously combating the enemy in the very same buildings. In fact, by my analysis, Israel has implemented more precautions to prevent civilian harm than any military in history—above and beyond what international law requires and more than the U.S. did in its wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. "The international community, and increasingly the United States, barely acknowledges these measures while repeatedly excoriating the IDF for not doing enough to protect civilians—even as it confronts a ruthless terror organization holding its citizens hostage. Instead, the U.S. and its allies should be studying how they can apply the IDF's tactics for protecting civilians, despite the fact that these militaries would almost certainly be extremely reluctant to employ these techniques because of how it would disadvantage them in any fight with an urban terrorist army like Hamas. "Those calling for Israel to find an alternative to inflicting civilian casualties to lower amounts (like zero) should be honest that this alternative would leave the Israeli hostages in captivity and allow Hamas to survive the war. The alternative to a nation's survival cannot be a path to extinction." Simply inarguable - unless facts don't matter when it comes to criticizing Israel and the existence of the Jewish people. #antisemitism #standwithisrael #neveragain #noceasefire #hamasisisis #destroyhamas #bringthemhome #bringthemhomenow #goodvsevil #terror #israel #campusantisemitism #sjpiskkk #israelnowandforever #metoounlessurajew #Metoo_unless_UR_A_Jew #defundthun
