Pushing your cyclist to faster time trial times with the teams car! All my engineering life i have been involved in detail analysis on how to win a race, how to improve coolant flow, how to suck air through a radiator to improve efficiency of cooling through FEA and CFD modeling, but this is entertaining... How to push a cyclist by making the most un-aerodynamic as possible vehicle behind that still looks like a vehicle and therefore avoids the claim of cheating! So the ultimate answer is to mount a brick wall on the car to capture as much air as possible and throw it at the cyclists bottom :o) I guess if this was taken to the extreme, you would REDUCE the aero effect of the bike and rider - such a famous Queen song comes to mind - so that they can be blown forward through the sail effect! Love this article as it shows where Engineering optimisation can take us!
