When the market is oversaturated with recruiter after recruiter, it's sometimes hard to know who to spend the time connecting with. For example, there's a lot of recruiters out there who claim to specialize in tech recruitment...who don't know the difference between Java and JavaScript. When I started recruiting back at the tender age of 21 in Dallas, I horrifyingly remember a conversation when I asked someone about their experience with My Squirrel (mySQL). Everyone has to start somewhere, right?! That was back in 2014...and I've learned a lot since then. Since I moved to Tulsa in 2015 (and then started Rogue Recruitment in 2018), I have dedicated myself to becoming *the* tech recruiter in Tulsa. Not only have I spent the last nine years specifically speaking and connecting with tech talent in Tulsa, we have a Technical Partner (Preston Schwartz) on our team who is on standby to answer any and all technical questions. #gorogue

Real talk: simply being grateful to have a job is not reason enough to stay at a company that does not appreciate and recognize all the value you bring. #gorogue

You don't want to work with a recruiter who will do *whatever it takes* to close a deal/fill a job. Those recruiters will cut corners. They will withhold information - or flat out lie - to either the candidate, client, or both. The recruiter who will do *whatever it takes* to close the deal doesn't care about the long-term success of your team. Most importantly, they don't care about the impact it makes on the candidate who is making a major life decision. That recruiter will do *whatever it takes* to bring in a fee. I'm not so big headed that I think my team is the only option to offer the amount of care we put into the process. But, I do know we are not the norm. So, whether you work with us or another agency, please make sure you are supporting a recruiter who isn't only motivated by the paycheck, but by the relationships and bigger picture. Work with a recruiter who feels an immense responsibility to making sure it is actually the right fit, not just the good enough fit to get the paycheck. #gorogue
