Marriott Int’l will open a Ritz-Carlton hotel on the site of the former Hotel Jugoslavija in Serbia's capital Belgrade in 2027, Serbian construction firm Millenium Team said.
Millenium Team's subsidiary Danube Riverside, which owns Hotel Jugoslavija, and Marriott signed a cooperation contract which officialises the arrival of the luxury hotel brand to Serbia.
The Ritz-Carlton Belgrade will have 193 rooms and apartments, two restaurants as well as more than 1,700sqm of space for events and meetings, as per the press release. It will be part of a new €500M residential and business complex on the location of the former Hotel Jugoslavija, which is being built by Millenium Team.
Earlier this month, Millenium Team said it has started works on the Hotel Jugoslavija site. Apart from the hotel, the planned complex on the site will also include two towers - a residential 42-floor tower and a 34-floor business tower.
Last month, Marriott opened a luxury hotel of its St. Regis brand in Belgrade within the Belgrade Waterfront real estate project. In addition, Marriott's brand Moxy Hotels plans to open its second hotel in Belgrade by the end of 2025. Marriott's brand Courtyard also has a hotel in Belgrade, while the Sheraton brand operates a hotel in the northern city of Novi Sad.
