I recently had the opportunity to update the team on our ever-evolving sustainability strategy, which I am proud to lead. We're continuing to make great strides, and here are a few key initiatives we’ve implemented: ✅ BG Sustainability Design Guide: This comprehensive document reflects our commitment to sustainability across every aspect of our work, serving as a reference to guide all future projects. ✅ Sustainability in Design Reviews: Now an explicit requirement for all design reviews to cross-check decision-making against clear sustainability metrics. ✅ Sustainability Health Checks: Dedicated workshops reviewing a project’s sustainability strategy and looking for enhancement opportunities.   At the heart of our approach is a focus on retrofit, reuse and specifying new materials with conscious consideration.   Looking ahead, we’re excited to further strengthen our sustainability efforts with some key initiatives: 🔘 The launch of the Barr Gazetas Sustainable Travel Policy. 🔘 An expansion of our sustainable materials database. 🔘 Developing a portfolio of exemplar case studies that embrace circular economy principles.   Stay tuned as we continue to build on our long-standing commitment to creating more sustainable and thoughtful design. 

Among the many ratings systems that reflect effort and results on sustainable business practices, EcoVadis is the most comprehensive. Steelcase continues to make progress on all fronts resulting in a Gold rating in 2024.

𝗦𝗶𝘀𝗸’𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 We’re delighted to publish our third annual sustainability report, covering our sustainability activity that occurred during 2023. It includes an update on our performance against the targets set out in our 2030 Sustainability Roadmap ‘Building today, Caring for tomorrow’. Sinéad Hickey, Head of Sustainability for Ireland and Europe, Sisk, says: “There were some notable highlights in 2023 – we planted nearly 500,000 trees across Ireland, UK and Europe; we’ve had our carbon targets validated by the Science Based Target Initiative (SBTi); and we achieved ISO 20400 business ready certification for sustainable procurement. Those highlights are just a small example of the wide range of sustainable business activity that happened during 2023 and of course we are pushing again in 2024 to achieve even more. We know it is an ongoing journey and it’s about being part of the solution for a better, healthier, and more equitable future.” We appreciate the work of our colleagues and our wide range of stakeholders who help us daily to achieve our targets and positively impact sustainability across Sisk and the wider industry. The Year in Brief! Let’s share some highlights from our newly released sustainability report. This year, we’ve focused on optimising resources and increasing the share of recycled and certified materials. Among our achievements are: 👉 Updated materials in Kinnarps Colour Studio, including more fabrics made entirely or largely from recycled materials. We want to make it even easier for you to make sustainable choices! 👉 Brought table leg production in-house to our factory in Jönköping. This has streamlined our transport processes and enabled an even more energy-efficient production of your furniture. 👉 Our Sustainability Manager, Johanna Ljunggren, has been appointed to the delegation for circular economy, a government advisory body promoting circular business models.
