Visit our Bio-Spaces exhibition, curated by Planted, in collaboration with Oliver Heath Design and explore the "BIO[MIMETIC]" island! Biomimcry (derived from the Ancient Greek, meaning ‘imitating life’) involves emulating biological processes, systems, and structures found in the natural world, to design buildings, products, technologies, and systems that are efficient, functional, and environmentally friendly. Admission is free and there is no need to book! Learn more here: https://bit.ly/Bio-Spaces 📷Sarah Dollar Photography #architecture #architectureexhibition #interiordesign #biospaces

The Moco Concept Store is the continuation of the research conducted by Six N. Five since its founding in 2014. El Born, the heart of Barcelona, opens the doors to the Moco concept store. A store located next to the Moco Museum, recognized for its collection of digital and contemporary art. The store was conceived as an artistic experience. A project signed by Six N. Five in collaboration with Isern Serra. The idea behind the project is to recreate and materialize a virtual space in the real world and bring it to life. Extremes that today coexist and constantly intersect, often acting as opposing poles, in this case intertwining for a common purpose: to materialize a virtual space. MAXXI Museum by Zaha Hadid: A parametric urban campus that creates a multi-directional sequence of pathways to mimic the flow of urban life- and also the topic of my undergrad architecture dissertation. Built between the years 1998-2009 and situated amongst former barracks in Rome, MAXXI was awarded the Stirling Prize of the Royal Institute of British Architects in 2010. When faced with the physical fluidity of the space, initially influenced by the delta of a river, it is clear that Hadid turned towards the new discipline of architectural design dependent on new image-making processes and computers generated algorithms: a term rendered the concept of ‘parametricism’. The interior of Hadid’s structure appears to be the main event in relation to the motif of an immersive experience for its users. The fluid pathways throughout the gallery are evoked by the curved concrete walls, which Hadid herself describes as similar to a wave breathing on a cliff. The constant motif of water is accompanied by ongoing sounds of dripping water through the pipes of the interior. Zaha Hadid has conjured a parametric, post-modern milestone that juxtaposes its surrounding urban environment, yet encourages the development of Italy towards a more contemporary cultural reset. 📸 by: Emilia Tudor @space.forthesoul on Instagram #architecture #interiordesign #parametricdesign #zahahadid #maxximuseum #concrete #inspiration #creative #postmodern

MUSEUM OF EMOTIONS- Edition #4 Competition entry Title- The journey Description- The two spaces of the museum have the same maze layout but a contrasting impact on the emotions of the user. In the lower space the user can clearly see the goal through the transparent glass but still feel stuck, confused and frustrated. Whereas in the upper space, the user is not clear about the goal but still has a sensory experience walking amid the textures, colours, fragrance and the life around. The user is actually enjoying the journey....as it is said IT'S ALL ABOUT THE JOURNEY..... #museum #museumofemotions #sensoryarchitecture #sensoryexperience #landscapearchitecture #landscapedesign #spacedesign #competition #architecture #architecturecompetition #maze #emotions #journey

Melbourne's MPavilion has played host to numerous 'starchitects' over the past decade, and this year is no exception, with Japan's Tadao Ando recently completing the 10th MPavilion. Bringing his distinctive style to Queen Victoria Gardens, this Summer's MPavilion showcases beautifully constructed concrete, pure geometries, and water. These elements are commonly found throughout Ando's work globally, including the Chichu Art Museum, the Church on the Water, and Museum SAN, to name a few. Ando possesses a unique ability to maintain a consistent style and objective in his designs — emphasizing the natural environment — regardless of the context and typology. With the MPavilion being one of his smaller-scale projects, it's interesting to experience how these ideas are scaled down and still communicated successfully. The raw materiality and reflective water enhance and spotlight the natural surroundings of the gardens, with strategically limited yet highly considered viewpoints outward towards the foliage and sky. Paired with the simple form, visitors experience a sense of emptiness and silence, highlighting the interplay of light and wind and creating a holistic and peaceful ambiance. This year's MPavilion presents a stark contrast to the previous one — a bright orange and highly textured canopy designed by All(zone). Both pavilions share a focus on filtering light into the space, but each takes a distinct approach to achieve this goal. Which one do you prefer? WMF will maintain the historical streetscape look of the current building while completely renovating the interior in concert with well-known exhibit designers, Jack Rouse & Associates (JRA). The new Museum design will complement the building’s original architecture while making a vibrant statement that embraces their new focus on STEAM. The design will also incorporate nearly 4,000 square feet of garden space between their building and the Erie Art Museum. One emerging museum design trend is blurring the lines separating indoor and outdoor spaces. Designers have focused on taking advantage of their particular regions’ surrounding natural spaces through museum design, blending presentation through art, architecture, and nature.
