2023 Case Study – Connecticut Soil Stabilization   Job Site - Geological Problem   Sampled in Windsor, CT in May 2023, a large warehouse slab pour was delayed 4 weeks due to above-average rainfall.  The owner and contractor lost time, money, and missed their deadline. With almost 33% of the gradation being fines, repairing the silty base was necessary and expensive. The contractor brought in 9,200 tons of 12” processed aggregate at a cost of $ 276,000.      The Duraflex Solution: 10% Cement (by weight of soil) + 2% Duraflex (by weight of cement, or 8 jumbo bags)   The Duraflex-Cement investment would have been $164,240.   A savings of over 40% !!!  

Project Name: Modeling Evaluation of Increasing the Allowable Excavation Depth of the Mine. The Corkscrew Mine operated by Titan Florida LLC is located in Lee County, Florida. The operator is submitting a request to Lee County for a Mine Excavation Planned Development (MEPD) to increase the allowable excavation depth of the mine. A recent MODFLOW modeling study by Cardno was completed to evaluate the potential effects of the proposed changes to mining depth. The key indicators for determining impacts to the groundwater system were changes in aquifer heads in conservation areas within the site and changes in aquifer heads at the flow-ways. However, the client requested an additional evaluation by using an integrated surface water / groundwater model. Consulting Areas: • Surface water management • Wetland conservation and restoration

Today is March 14, Pi day! Ellingson-DTD crews recently completed a project at Superfund site in a Southern state. Three blind (single entry) soil vapor extraction wells were completed at two different locations in an urban setting. The screen section for the wells is about 30’ bgs. The well materials are composed of 3” diameter, schedule 80, flush-threaded PVC. Each well had ~120’ of screen and the total installed length of all three wells is 827’. The formation at this site is challenging - clay grading to weathered and unweathered chalky limestone, requiring great flexibility with the bit choice. The wells were drilled with biopolymer drilling fluid and well development consisted of jetting with an enzyme breaker solution. #horizontalenvironmental #contamination #groundwater

Our Pre-Feasibility Study issued in February of this year set a solid foundation, from which our team is building opportunities and optimizations, while assuming current and realistic economic assumptions. Specifically, MainSpring’s shallow low-grade mineralization is supportive of a potential open-pit immediately south of Parks/Salyer. Our pending PEA will explore this potential, as well as a first look at the potential impacts of heap leaching the Cactus Mine primary sulphides using the Nuton leaching technologies. “We are a unique emerging brownfields developer working towards a construction decision in the near term.
