🚆🌟 Off-grid Lighting Trial at Barry Railway Depot 🌟🚆
We're thrilled to share that PERC Ltd has arranged a trial of Kight's innovative KV6 light at the Barry railway depot, where Transport for Wales is housing its latest fleet of trains. Perc Ltd, known for its Electrical Consultancy and Project Delivery Service, is on the lookout for greener, cost-effective solutions to light additional areas of the depot without the need for extensive new civil cabling routes.
Our KV-6 portable light, a hybrid wind and solar lighting product, is being evaluated for its potential to meet these needs. It's entirely off-grid, delivering reliable dusk-to-dawn lighting year-round at the necessary lux levels. Plus, our integrated remote monitoring system will provide valuable insights into how the coastal winds help keep the battery charged continuously. 💡🌞🌬️
Darren Williams, Managing Director of Perc Ltd, shared his positive experience: "Our previous attempts with off-grid lighting solutions weren’t very successful, often failing by 3am. However, Kight's highly engineered and optimised products use the latest technology, harnessing both wind and solar power. The remote management and monitoring add exciting potential for our railway sector clients and beyond."
Our solution not only meets rigorous railway lighting standards but also allows for a design scheme that creates a consistent minimum 10 lumens of light in car park and road areas. The remote monitoring system offers control over dimming, brightening, and turning the lights on and off, along with battery charge monitoring and fault alerts.
By opting for our lighting scheme, Perc Ltd can propose significant cost savings for Transport for Wales compared to traditional mains-connected schemes.
Darren Williams added, "This product could be ideal for railway areas like foot crossings, which require lighting but are too expensive to connect to the mains. Remote performance monitoring is crucial to ensure safety in these areas."
We're looking forward to the results of this trial and the potential impact our KV6 light could have on the railway sector and other industries.
