MORE ABOUT THE WORKPLACE CHARGING SCHEME (WCS) GRANT? First a reminder. What is the workplace charging scheme? The WCS is a UK scheme run by the government to support the uptake of electric vehicles within businesses and workplaces to provide a financial contribution towards upfront cost of purchasing and installing #EV charge points specifically for businesses in workplaces. The WCS works by contributing 75% of the costs. The grant is capped at £350 per charge point and can be used for up to 40 charge points across all sites that is an opportunity to save up to £14,000. In order to claim the WCS grant, your installation must be for WCS approved charge points and carried out by an approved WCS installer such as Network Power Connections. This is because NPC as the WCS installer will claim the grant on your behalf. The charge point must be brand new and not second hand to qualify for the WCS grant. If your application is successful you will receive a unique voucher code which, when presented to NPC, for example, as an approved #OZEV installer allows us to claim the grant on your behalf. The Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) is a team working across government to support the transition to zero emission vehicles (ZEVs). They are providing support for the take-up of EVs, as well as funding to support charge point infrastructure across the UK You need to be mindful that if your application is successful, the installation must be carried out and we must claim the voucher within six months of the issue date of the voucher. If the claim and installation are not completed in six months, then the voucher be void and not paid by the OZEV, and you will have to foot the bill. The process is simple and uncomplicated, just get in touch with us for advice on how to apply. Network Power Connections can cable for a small amount of EV charging points for the workplace, a super rapid or rapid charging station, commercial solutions, and infrastructure for fleets.
