The Power of Starting: My Journey in Real Estate We all start somewhere—or we don’t. Starting is the hardest part. Looking back, it rarely looks perfect or polished. In fact, it might not even seem professional at first glance. But that’s where the magic lies—it shows we’re trying. And I’ve come to realize that people respect those who are genuinely making the effort. This is what it looked like when I first started in real estate—seriously trying to make an impression. I’ll admit, many people don’t believe the lengths I went to back then, and some might not believe what we do today. But here’s the truth: we’ve never stopped trying, innovating, and creating. It all comes from just one place—starting. And then, the hardest part—not stopping. That’s where the real growth happens. I can hardly believe the journey this career has taken me on and how hard it’s driven me. Back in the day, I had these binders. I’d print them myself, put my picture on the cover, and tuck a personal letter inside. They’d be packed with the listings you’d see or comparable properties for your home. Then we’d hit the road, ready for a fun day together. I was prepared, determined, and excited for the opportunity. And you knew it. Today, that same excitement still drives me. So, here’s my question for you: Do your customers, friends, or colleagues know what gets you excited? What are you trying? Where did you start? These are the questions I’m deeply curious about. This binder was my first pitch…presentation. And It represents where I started, and I’ll never get rid of it unless I’m forced to stop trying. And when that day comes, I’ll hand it over to my kids, to show them how far you can go if you just start—and don’t stop. And the best part is I don’t think I’ll have to give them anything because they’ve lived long enough to see me try. Still trying. What’s your starting story? I’d love to hear how you began your journey. Share your experiences or get in touch to keep the conversation going. But seriously, those are some ugly ass presentation binders. Thank you to each and everyone of my clients that gave me one of my early starts. I promise We’ve gotten better. And never wasted a single one of them. #RealEstate #Leadership #BusinessGrowth #CalgaryRealEstate #CommunityFocus

Who's holding you accountable. When you move into running a business or several. The book stops with you. It's quite easy to get complacent. But when you're around other like minded people in business who are smashing it. It makes you pull your socks up. Listen to what they're doing and want to strive and be the best you can be in your space. Systems are definitely something I've started to implement this week. Which was this week's mentoring session. Terry Blackburn Systems should be a part of your whole life as much as possible no just business. I also got a good kick up the arse for not completing tasks that I'd set myself. Which as people often do, I procrastinated as they were high value tasks. But the uncomfort only lasts momentarily. Showing it's not just the knowledge mentors instill in you but holding you to account that gives masterminds their value. I am always looking to connect with like minded individuals. If you have any questions or need advice get in touch. If you have any property that's no longer serving you get in touch. If you want the security of property but don't want the stress, become an angel investor. Great returns on set terms & rates. Get in touch. #property #investment #landloard #propteryinvestor #uk #houses #training #education #investor #developer #refurb

Commercial Managing Director at Phyllis Browning Company | National CRE Educator | Army Veteran & Advocate | Property Operations Whisper | Maximizing Returns for Investors through Operations | Love to help New Agents
If I had to start over today in commercial real estate, I think I would first cry. I came into the industry at the end of the Great Financial Crisis, so times were certainly interesting, but not like today. Back then we knew things were going to get better, but today we just don’t. There is so much more uncertainty in the market, but ultimately if you want to, it is here for you to take. Here is what I would do if I was starting out on day 1 tomorrow morning; ➡️ Find a mentor – There is a ton I didn’t know that I spend way too much time trying to get right, the right mentor would have helped. ➡️ The right brokerage – I think most agents miss this one because they focus on splits or leads or a thousand other things. Ultimately, you want to find a brokerage you fit with culturally. I have been with organizations where I am the outcast culturally and I hated coming to work every day. ➡️ Find the right clients for me and prospect before everything else – We focus on education, happy hours, and everything else, but not building that relationship with our ideal clients. I would spend 40 hours a week just on prospecting for the first 3 to 4 years. The only time I wouldn’t be prospecting is when I am working a deal, or getting some education. ➡️ Get involved with CCIM – For me, CCIM has been everything I have needed of a professional association for commercial real estate. That may not be it for you or your market, but I would get involved with something where you meet the other professionals in the market. ➡️ Have fun – If you hate your career it is going to show, so have fun (which goes back to the right brokerage point). Early on, while I didn’t get a ton of in-depth mentorship, I was at a place where I had fun. I enjoyed coming to work, I enjoyed the people I worked with, and I liked that they loved the R2D2 Lego Set that was on my desk. It was fun, goofy and I could be me. It removed a ton of the pressure and allowed me to figure out what I needed to do to be successful. What would you like to add?

Helping entrepreneurs discover and use their unfair advantage to create more ‘F#^* Yeah’ moments in business and life
My dirty little secret I’ve been hiding something from you I haven’t been completely honest… I’m not a business coach. That’s right. I’m not a business coach. Two epiphanies clients had yesterday during our chats illustrated that. These two are different people from when we first met. Both said they can’t believe what they’re doing and where they’re at That it feels surreal and to good to be true BUT it is true. It’s their reality now. They have much more time, fun, impact, money and freedom now. And these were “successful” people before. At least on the outside. Great jobs, nice houses and cars, vacations and families But something was missing. It’s not now! And that’s what I do… Yes I help people create and build business. Yes a lot have hit multiple 6 figures per annum And some have even hit 7 figures All working 15-20 hours or less. Yes they enhance relationships Break free from the hustle and grind Travel the world with their families Do what they want when they want where they want and how they want And do things they through impossible. But they’re all by-products of what I do. I help you discover what you’re born to do What you can do unlike anyone else in the world Help you work out how to use that to help and serve others How you monetize it And create and live a life, based on that, you wouldn’t trade for anything.. I help you create what you always wanted but never thought possible or realistic. No more hustle and grind No more building someone else’s wealth or life No more constant sacrifice and suffering No more settling and good enough But living and thriving The life you want and love Working less Playing more An abundance of time for fun, family and exploring Earning money as a by product Doing it your way. That’s what I do. Help you create all of that And more! I help you to Screw the Rules!

There is a lot of guilt that comes with being a founder. And I think one of the worst is probably having people in the wrong roles. I see it time and time again with our clients - their business is experiencing rapid growth. But due to the oversight of not investing in the right people structures from the outset they now find themselves with: ❌ The wrong people in the wrong roles. ❌ Roles no longer needed for updated growth plans. ❌ Too much to do & no-one to be able to hand it off to. At the beginning it makes sense you want to run a 'leaner team' with more flex on your people structures, processes, job descriptions etc. It's the kind of "muck in" attitude. But now you have much bigger clients (which means more pressure to deliver) the effectiveness of your delivery is inherently tied to the efficiency of your people structures. So, please take my advice... Invest in setting up the people structures you need for your long-term goals RIGHT. FROM. THE. BEGINNING. 👏🏼 It'll save you an insane amount of money, stress, and guilt... and we all know you don't need any more of those things as it is. 😅

Being a mom and a business owner has taught me a lot about discipline, balance and surrender. The real truth is that we never can truly know or control what will happen at any moment. Life as a mom is always unpredictable and things will always come up that you need to gracefully adapt to and handle in the best way possible. Same thing when running a business. Each day is never like the one before it, there can be amazingly exciting surprises and there can be challenges that teach you grit, determination and how to think outside of the box. That's why I love being an entrepreneur as well because there is never a dull moment. Some days are filled with exciting wins and some are filled with uncertainty and figuring it out. The characteristic that both of these roles have brought to me on a deeper level is discipline and determination. I never wanted to resort to the "easy" way and instead felt more driven to figure out and do things in the "best" way possible. With commitment to keep pushing forward, to try new things and to really think about what is best for the long run and go with that. But it's always a balancing act, to do the best job that you can possibly do while also being gentle, kind and understanding to your own capabilities and process. Knowing that we might not be perfect today, but we're indeed getting better and better with each milestone, each lesson learned, each project and each experience moving forward. Remembering that not everything has to be done and perfect today. It's important to move forward and have momentum but it's also okay to make mistakes and give yourself space to breathe. Not letting yourself stress about the perfection and the completion of every single thing that you would love and feel like you need to do. But being smart about it and doing what is most important. Really sitting with yourself and understanding on a deeper level, what is it exactly that is the most important thing for me to do right now to bring me closer to my goals and the life that I want to live and have been working towards. Personally, I want to be the best mom that I can be so I know that sometimes this means I cannot get everything done that I want to get done in my business but that's okay. Just learning how to do the things that are most important for me today and accepting and honoring the process of growth and development in whatever way works and flows with that exact moment, today.

I've been personal training a major founder in Toronto over the past 3 months. Here is what I've learned 👇 Context These aren't your average 9-to-5ers. These are the grinders, the hustlers, the ones who REFUSE to let their dreams die. I used to think I knew what "busy" meant. I WAS DEAD WRONG... These founders? They're operating on a whole different level. While most people are hitting snooze, they're: - Crushing client calls at dawn - Coding their SaaS platforms between sets - Strategizing business growth during meal prep And now they're at the gym at 5 AM, pushing their bodies to the limit. WHY? Because they understand a fundamental truth: SUCCESS ISN'T GIVEN. IT'S TAKEN. Working with these absolute beasts has completely shattered my perspective... They don't just talk about hustle - they EMBODY it. Every. Single. Day. Here's the kicker: They're not superhuman. They've just made a CHOICE. A choice to outwork, outlearn, and outlast everyone else in their field. It's made me ask myself: Am I truly giving 100%? Or am I just TELLING myself I am? The hard truth? Most of us have SO MUCH MORE to give. We're capable of SO MUCH MORE than we think. These founders have shown me that the gap between where you are and where you want to be isn't about talent. It's about EFFORT. It's about being willing to do what others won't, so you can have what others don't. So here's my challenge to you: Stop making excuses. Stop waiting for the "perfect time." START NOW. _ How important is staying fit while being a founder?

Real Estate Investor and CEO at MAK Capital | Luxury Storage Developer | 200+ CRE units | Financial Freedom Mentor
Here are 11 questions I help my coaching students solve for (to unlock freedom): ↓ All of the answers end with the same long-term goal: start investing in real estate. 1. How do I quit my 9-5? 2. How do I raise capital? 3. Why do I feel burned out in my W2? 4. How do I get more time with my family? 5. Should I invest in multifamily or storage? 6. How can I become a millionaire with RE? 7. How did you grow your construction biz? 8. How do I get into real estate with $0? 9. How do I replace my job with real estate? 10. How can I passively invest in CRE? 11. How do I delegate + hire great people? I've shown up for the past 400 days posting about real estate and financial freedom. This led to starting a newsletter. This led to building an online course. This led to taking on coaching clients. In 2024, I want to help more people. Financial freedom is possible. But your odds go WAY up with guidance from someone a few steps ahead. I'm curious Linkedin... 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙨 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙧 𝙨𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨? -- P.S. I open 3-4 one-on-one coaching spots each quarter. DM me "Mentor" to explore my programs.
