Protecting Managing Agents from abuse is crucial for their professional well-being, safety, and security. It helps maintain professional boundaries, retain skilled professionals, build trust and confidence, protect reputations, uphold industry standards, and promote a positive working environment. By prioritizing the protection of managing agents, the strata management industry can thrive and provide high-quality services to residents and clients.
The captioned by the two TAC's; APFM and ASM said it all. Collective and Collaborative efforts by BCA, MA associations, MA firms accredited and non accredited, MCST councils, residents, owners and the Public to promote awareness and accord due respect would definitely promote the mental well-being of professionals working in the MA profession. This would hopefully help to attract people to and retain people within the MA industry whom not only remuneration but more importantly moral needing a booster from time to time to keep going.

What is the DIFC? The Dubai International Financial Centre, or DIFC, is a leading financial hub in the region for business, fintech, and lifestyle. Setup in 2004, the DIFC has grown to be one of the top 10 onshore financial centres in the world. Cross-Border Insolvency & Restructuring | Commercial Litigation | Asset Recovery | Lawyer | INSOL Fellow | Offshore (Cayman Islands)
My colleague, Jodi-Ann Stephenson FCIArb, will be speaking about navigating the intersection of ADR and Insolvency which is a very timely topic with the recent Privy Council's rulings in the Sian Participation and FamilyMart, as well as the recent rulings in Hong Kong in the Guy Lam and Re Simplicity matters. Jodi-Ann has recently written about the Privy Council's ruling in Sian Participation. Link to article is in the comments. We are also seeing an increase in ADR being used in insolvency and restructuring cases, following the lead taken in the United States and now in Singapore. Hopefully the increased use of ADR in the insolvency space will lead to preserving enterprise value and maximising return for all stakeholders. Closer to home, we have a relatively new Practice Direction in the Cayman Islands which provides for judicial mediations. I suspect the use of judicial mediations in Cayman insolvency matters has been limited, if at all, but this is a welcomed development. #insolvency #restructuring #ADR #mediation #arbitration
