This is now my favorite misleading and terrible message directed towards a user. Facebook's system was down (ATT). We need to fix this kind of junk. It causes massive stress, especially among less technical users who took the message to be true. From TV reporter to natural-light photographer: 15+ years in front of the camera, 13 years behind, capturing confidence and comfort for dog-loving brands and business leaders; WRAL Contributor
Despite all the changes Facebook keeps making, the user experience continues to get worse. I can’t scroll through the main feed without every other post being something “suggested” for me. Half of those post are fabricated videos of ridiculous people doing some sort of “reveal” that takes 15 minutes only to find they didn’t actually do anything at all, some “good deed” that has been staged, or AI-generated images that mostly anybody should be able to tell is fake, but people keep falling for. One…let’s remember Facebook ultimately prioritizes our clicks to make money and ultimately encourages fake content. We as humans crave authenticity in a world where so much of life is a performance or filtered through the Instagram-lens of perfection. Yet, we are so desperate for what is real that we still cling to these posts that in the back of our minds scream to us are fake. So remember to stop scrolling long enough to enjoy what is real, what’s right in front of you. Your family. Your pets. The ocean breeze. An evening walk or dinner with friends. Just a quick rant about Facebook. I opened the app and took note of the first 50 posts I was displayed. 15 Sponsored Ads 25 Suggested Groups or People 10 posts from actual Friends Every single Friend post was 8+ days old, and appeared in reverse order. First I saw was from 18th of May, then 19th of May, then 20th of May. The first friend post was actually the 16th post.... I had to scroll past 15 Sponsored Ads and Suggested Groups first. I have 100 "Friends", to give this some more context. I assume they are still making a boatload of money, and that this is profitable for them... but I wonder how many zeros you need in your bank account before you stop caring about the quality of the product. I have to assume Mark and the original team actually thought they were making something fun and cool. Back when new features were things like the "I'm feeling sad" emotion menu thing, and not "We just finished our seventy third sprint on ways to exploit our users." (Not re-written with AI) (Ironically, I would have in the past posted this on Facebook, but if I did, I doubt anyone would see it)

I help Marketing Executives crush their goals by delivering creative & targeted solutions without busting budgets or breaking a sweat.
Remember the Facebook "Poke" feature? It's back and just as nostalgic as ever! While pokes faded away due to user annoyance, Facebook is reviving this feature, making it more prominent in search results. So go ahead and relive the early days of Facebook, poke your friends, and feel the thrill (or pain) of an unreciprocated poke. Will it last? Probably not, but it's a fun nod to the fleeting trends of the web. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gmD9z5FH #FacebookPokes #BlastFromThePast #socialmediastrategy #digitalmarketing

Hey #LinkedIn, you don't need to follow fads, you know. Just because #Facebook, #Instagram and that abomination called Threads went down ("suffered global outage" in sanitised language) does not mean you need to follow their example! I probably missed 100s of tips, tricks, hacks, ruses, feints, directions, suggestions, advice, pointers & cues! 🥲 Besides actually valuable, BS-less posts. Also, our #data is safe, right? Right? #HumptyDumpty #LinkedInDown

Facebook and Instagram seem to be experiencing widespread issues, with users reporting log-in problems and disruptions. DownDetector has recorded over 350,000 reports of issues on Facebook and 50,000 on Instagram. As we navigate through these challenges, it's a reminder of the interconnectedness of our digital world and the impact such disruptions can have. I am looking forward to updates on the resolution of these issues. #Facebook #Instagram #TechIssues 🌐🔍 https://lnkd.in/gWPFDuep

Generative AI Consultant | Helping CEOs Automate their Businesses with AI | Sharing Daily AI & Tech Insights for You
"There was this very strong demand to have a service where people could share more photos" Zuckerberg shared a key insight on how he built one of Facebook's most popular features. As Mark explains in a 2012 Y Combinator interview: "At the beginning we had one profile picture that you could have on your profile. And what we observed was there was this behavior where a lot of people would every day upload a new profile picture." This observation led to a powerful realization: "Our takeaway from this was that there was this very strong demand to have a service where people could share more photos." However, they couldn't act on it immediately: "It actually wasn't until we had the server capacity and the engineering team bandwidth to actually build a full photo sharing service." But once they did, it became a game-changer: "That's become obviously one of the key parts of Facebook over 3 or 400,000,000 photos shared a day now. So I mean it's pretty crazy." The key takeaway for product builders is to pay close attention to user behavior and demand. Even if you can't act on it right away. Those insights can guide your roadmap and lead to breakthrough features. As Mark showed, sometimes the most powerful ideas come from simply observing. By identifying how your users engage with your product in unexpected ways.

GTM | GA4 | I Work With People In Optimizing And Setting Up Conversion Tracking For Social Media, Google Ads, Bing And Google Analytics 4 // Need Help With Enhanced Tracking Using Custom Data Layer Solutions?
Event Missing Some Deduplication Parameters Issue on Facebook Conversion Tracking Problem: You've encountered the error message "Event Missing Some Deduplication Parameters" in your Facebook Conversion API (CAPI) setup. This error typically indicates that certain deduplication keys for server events are not being sent to Facebook. Facebook relies on these keys, including the event name, event ID, _fbp, and external ID, to ensure accurate tracking and deduplication of events. Identify Missing Parameters: Check if you're sending the necessary deduplication keys, especially the event ID, which is often the culprit. Verify Event ID Matching: Ensure consistency in event IDs between Facebook pixel and CAPI events, particularly for common events like PageView. Utilize Facebook Event Testing Tool: Validate your setup using the Facebook event testing tool to confirm proper recording and deduplication. Check for Inconsistencies: Investigate discrepancies in event IDs if you notice random triggering of browser and server events. Address Test ID in Production: Prevent errors by setting up a Test ID only for debug mode to avoid accidental inclusion in production environments. #business #EcommerceTracking #GoogleTagManager #DataLayer #Analytics #gtm #facebook #ga4 #conversion #tracking

If you want to keep in touch with family and friends, share photos and such, all the while enjoying some of the aspects of #socialmedia, you are safer using #telegram instead of #facebook or #instagram. Facebook as the cool kids would say, have been caught in 4K, circumventing data #encryption for apps like #snapchat, #amazon and #youtube to understand 'YOUR' behaviour and interactions with other applications and services. #analytics and user data is a commodity often abused by companies like Facebook, to gain the upper hand or competitive edge. This is not a crack pot conspiracy theory. Tech Crunch has reported on this. https://lnkd.in/eW-isrn3
