Amen." —Jude 1:24-25 At work we had some job openings and I applied for one of them in a nearby Office. Several others internally also applied and panel interviews ensued. When it was all done, one of the other Associates got the position. I was a little disappointed, however, U know there will be other opportunities for advancement. Actually a similar position just opened up this week. The real key for Management was seeing how I reacted to the setback. Do I complain- no Do I pout- no Do I have a poor attitude- no Do I just "half-ass" stuff- no I take a deep breath, appreciate the experience and then get back to work. I'm ingrained to work hard regardless, so the fact I didn't get it, doesn't matter, I'll pour my efforts in this Office. I definitely want the other person to succeed in their new position as well. And anything I can do to help, I'll do . I want to do well in my position. I want our Office to do well in the Company. Plan out what you want to do to make an impact once the summer is over and it’s back to business as usual, and design a strategy to achieve these goals. Write them down and follow up on a daily basis. Focus On Your Wellness Take a break from the constant emails and work notifications and allow your mind and body to truly relax and recharge. Catch up on sleep or establish a regular sleep schedule. Feeling well-rested can significantly improve your mood and energy levels. Engage in activities that promote relaxation, such as deep breathing exercises, meditation, yoga or spending time in nature. Since the weather is nice, venture outdoors and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. Go on a hike, jog, run or walk to maintain mental clarity, as well as your physical health. Pursue activities you enjoy, whether it's reading, writing, listening to music, playing games or creating art. Focusing on hobbies can be a great way to de-stress and express yourself creatively. Spend quality time with friends and family.¨

Today is a great reflection of how I manage my job search and a strategy that I have found to be beneficial and balanced. My Schedule: 📚Children off to school- keeping your same schedule is key. It prevents you from falling into bad habits. 🖇️Post on LinkedIn- consistent networking is key, & while we may not always be able to network in person, this is by far the next best thing. 👷🏽♀️ She Built This City opening- supporting organizations in your community & celebrating the wins of others is a great way to keep positive energy so that you can prepare to celebrate your future win in employment. 🎖️Volunteer to help a family whose home burned down- service. People often forget that volunteering IS WORKING. If you aren’t getting paid to work, a great way to continue your work ethic is to volunteer. 📄Attend a career fair- face to face opportunities to speak with decision makers is always a plus. It builds connection, allows you to display your character, and helps you practice for interviews. I’ve attached the job fair I am attending today. If you are also in the job search you should come out also. Remember to research hiring events in your area weekly. Planning for one a week is a great strategy to add to your schedule. 🎓Go to school- I am pro education. I took on the philosophy that if I’m not where I want to be in life, it’s because there is something I don’t know or someone I don’t know that would place me in my desired destination. Even if you don’t go to an accredited program, finding seminars, reading books, or learning from a professional in that field can help you to use knowledge to elevate in your career. Now, I have added in an hour of time for retail therapy lol my favorite mom hack is the Cat& Jack exchange. When you are not working you have to find strategies to save money, but I’ll share more on that another day.
