City of Spokane water customers, we have an exciting contest to share with you! One initiative we've collaborated on over the last several years is the Water Wise Challenge with our friends Water Wise Spokane. The Challenge challenges you to reduce your water usage by at least 10% during summer's hottest months, July and August. The only competition is yourself - you're competing against your water consumption from 2023. Challengers who reduce their water use by 10% or more will receive a credit on their water bill! Not sure how to start? Check out WaterWiseSpokane.org for tips and while you're there, sign up for an efficiency checkup. Their team will help you identify ways to save water. They can even help program your irrigation controller to optimize watering and follow the odd/even watering schedule - all for free! We're super excited to participate in the Challenge for the fifth year, and hope we can inspire some of you to take part too. 🧡 Sign up before July 15 at https://loom.ly/jnAm0V0. #MediaThatMakesADifference #WaterWiseChallenge #Spokane

One of the primary contributors to compaction on your course is WATER. Compaction is often a hidden issue as it impacts the soil beneath the surface, negatively affecting its physical properties and hindering turf grass growth. How many aeration cycles are required each season to address this issue? Some courses perform as many as 10 or more cycles, which can be both costly and time-consuming. It's essential to facilitate gas exchange and ensure water penetrates well beyond the thatch level into the proper root zone. During the summer heat and play stress, efforts are made to maintain firm greens. However, by September, signs of wear and tear become apparent. If effluent or heavily mineralized water must be used, infiltrating the soil becomes even more challenging. 💦 RainMaker technology has demonstrated its ability to alleviate compaction by naturally aerating the soil profile, resulting in significantly improved infiltration rates. Let us demonstrate how we can modify the viscosity of your irrigation water, allowing you to get your course back on track faster, even after a significant rainfall event. 🤙 Let's chat Ryan Lambe Chris Hunt Riaan Kirsten #MakingEveryDropCount #watersavings #watereffeciency #compaction #soilhealth #golfcourse #golfcoursemanagement

What Are the Uses Of Collected Rainwater? You can essentially use rainwater anywhere you use tap water. The idea of using drinking water to flush our toilets and water our lawns is wasteful and irresponsible, especially considering population growth and water shortages across the country. Rainwater collection is a technique to green your home and to lessen your environmental footprint. There are basically three areas where rainwater can be used: · Irrigation use · Indoor, non-potable use · Whole house, potable use Contact the Tank Doctor to help keep your outdoor water tanks clean. 💧Water is Precious, Let's Use It Wisely! 💧 As one of the most expensive resources in the U.S., it's shocking how much water gets wasted due to inefficient irrigation systems and poor landscape management. 👉 Did you know? According to a 2014 Government Accountability Report, 40 out of 50 state water managers expected water shortages throughout 2014-2024. Over the past few years, drought conditions have persisted across many U.S. states, making water shortages a growing concern. In this climate, stewarding our most precious resource is more important than ever. Unfortunately, up to 50% of outdoor water is lost to wind, evaporation, and runoff from outdated systems—thousands of gallons wasted every year! At Hines, we're not just irrigation designers—we’re resource management consultants committed to optimizing water use. We help developers and property owners implement smarter, more efficient systems that protect both the environment and your budget. Let’s work together to reduce waste, conserve resources, and protect your investment. 💧 https://lnkd.in/dQkTwFPW #WaterFirst

How to save 8.5 million litres of water?💧 As part of ONE Properties’ ongoing commitment to sustainability, we are pleased to share the success of our partnership with ExactET Systems Inc. at Northwest Business Park and Summit Centre in Edmonton, and Skyline Industrial Park and Stoney Industrial Centre in Calgary. ExactET offers Climate Controlled Water Management which automatically overrides irrigation systems when precipitation is in the forecast. The ExactET system reduced watering by an average of 25 days at these sites, saving 8,577,000 litres over the 2023 season. As drought conditions persist and as water rates continue to climb, we are thrilled with the results so far. 💧 Learn more about ExactET and their services at www.exactet.ca 🌧 #ONEProperties #realestate #realestatedeveloper #realestatedevelopment #propertymanagement #cre #commercialrealestate #sustainability #csr #esg #greeninitiatives #environmentalstewardship #sustainabilityleaders #yegbiz #yycbiz
