Australia's transition to renewable energy is gaining momentum thanks to government policies, with batteries being a key piece to the puzzle in facilitating higher grid penetration by solar and wind. Australia’s large-scale battery storage market appears to be on the rise, driven by a combination of the country’s high adoption of renewable energy, its relative lack of interconnectivity of the grid over long distances and by supportive policies at state and now federal government level. With this positive momentum in the industry, if you are looking for land for your next renewable energy project, Rok Solid. is your trusted land acquisition agency. #roksolid #renewableenergy #batterystorage

At Friday’s meeting of the Energy and Climate Change Ministerial Council, Ministers agreed to accelerate an orderly exit of ageing coal-fired power stations and to address common issues affecting the development of renewables projects. The commitment by Ministers to develop a National Consumer Energy Resources Roadmap, which is aligned with our current work on developing such a document, is a significant step towards ensuring all Australian households and businesses have access to the benefits of lower cost, more reliable, renewable energy. We have long called for an expansion of the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme to incorporate distributed energy storage, and we are developing resources of our own to provide input into the design of the Roadmap. The council also committed to establishing national consumer energy resources standards, which is something we have long advocated for to help remove some of the inefficient and inconsistent applications of technical standards. We will monitor developments closely and look forward to working with government, our members, and the industry to ensure these changes take effect as quickly and efficiently as possible. Regarding the long-term plan for offshore renewable energy development, what are your ideas for Ireland to put into action? The offshore renewable energy (ORE) Future Framework Policy Statement, which lays out a broad framework for the development of offshore wind in Ireland's territorial seawater and exclusive economic zone, is being consulted in order to get input from stakeholders. By 2040, this architecture is expected to produce 20 GW, and by 2050, it should produce at least 37 GW. Deadline for submissions has been extended to 26 February 2024. Why aren’t more businesses and building owners investing in their own generation and storage assets? Despite record renewable energy growth in 2023 – with 473GW added to the global energy mix last year – the energy transition remains off track, with an additional 7.2TW of renewable power needed by the end of the decade – around 1.1TW each year. Progress is being made towards the energy transition targets but given the significant time and cost of transmission upgrades required for utility scale projects, we shouldn’t rely on these projects alone. There are numerous benefits and some attractive financial ROIs for businesses and building owners to make the investment so what are the hurdles that we need to address to make it easier? #renewableenergy #sustainability #solar #batteryenergystorage #solarenergy #ev #evcharging #funding

💡 Now its time for action on electricity grids! 🚀 We welcome the European Commission's EU Action Plan for Grids. This strategic initiative underscores the role grids play in speeding up the integration of renewable energy. The ambition is positive – now we need quick action to implement the plan and remove the grids bottleneck which corporates currently face to procuring more renewable energy via tools like renewable power purchase agreements (#PPAs). 🤝 Corporate renewable energy buyers support the EU's commitment to boosting power grid investments and streamlining processes for timely grid connections. A future-proofed grid network will facilitate more PPAs, adding new wind and solar power plants to the energy system. 👉 Read the press release – link in the comments 🔗 #RESourcePlatform #EUGridActionPlan #RenewableEnergy #EnergyTransition
