Enclosed Space Entry is a recurring problem in the maritime industry. In case of emergency in enclosed spaces, TIME is very essential. The faster the response, the better the outcome. With the Enclosed Space Location Monitoring Sheet, the location of the person inside the space is being monitored with regular reporting. Additionally, it aids the enclosed space rescue by: - A drawing/ diagram of the enclosed space is readily available on site for rescue planning purposes - Last reported position of the person inside is marked, thus making rescue operations faster and efficient. Today on the 25th June, we celebrate Day of the Seafarer, a day to acknowledge and appreciate all the work seafarers do day in and day out to help keep goods travelling around the globe. This year, the IMO theme was ‘Your Top Tips for Safety at Sea’, and to mark this we ran a fleet-wide competition for our vessels to find the ‘best’ Best Practice safety solution of 2024, so far! We received some brilliant suggestions to improve safety onboard, and some great solutions to help prioritise safe working. After lots of deliberation, it was decided that our vessel Al Oraiq was the winner with their Best Practice creating an enclosed space location monitoring sheet, to help make enclosed space entry safer. Well done! Thank you to our seafarers who, every day, help make sure our industry can be a safer one, through acting as leaders in safety and raising suggestions such as best practices to help improve. And thank you to all seafarers around the world for helping to keep the world moving! #KLNG #DayoftheSeafarer

Safety first. It is as simple as that. Seafaring is a high-risk occupation. But that can never be an excuse to relax on safety issues. Instead, it should push us to always strive for safer ships and ways of working. Today is the International Day of the Seafarer. The International Maritime Organization has chosen to focus on safety at sea as the theme for 2024, and we wholeheartedly support this theme. Safety is the most crucial aspect of our work. We won't transport your goods if it means a too high risk for our colleagues at sea. At Grieg Star, we live by the motto, 'Work with safety to come home safely.' This saying, which has been ours for close to ten years, underscores the crucial role of our seafarers in making our industry safer. They are not just employees, but the very heart of our safety efforts. Therefore, our seafarers' safety tips are integral to our work. Their insights and experiences are invaluable in making seafaring safer. Nothing matters more. #SafetyTipsAtSea

🌊 Celebrating the International Maritime Organization's Day of the Seafarer! 🌊 Today, we honor the invaluable contributions of seafarers who ensure the #maritime sector remains a safer workplace. This year's campaign highlights seafarers' efforts in enhancing safety within the industry. In line with this theme, Digital Seafarers shares these essential #SafetyTipsAtSea: 1. Never assume there is no risk: Always stay alert to all possible scenarios that may arise while performing tasks on board. Taking safety for granted and being overconfident are imminent risks for accidents. 2. When in doubt, assume the risk: This principle is crucial in maritime safety. If there is any doubt about a situation, assume that a risk exists. Remember, you are not alone in your duties on board; always consult and seek assistance. 3. Never forget the sacrifice: The time spent away from family and loved ones has a single objective—to keep you safe and ensure you return home in one piece. Always prioritize your safety, knowing many are waiting for you back home.⚓ Are you a seafarer? Please share a safety tip at sea!. #SeafarerDay #MaritimeSafety #SeafarerWellbeing #SafetyTipsAtSea #SeafarerSupport #GlobalMaritime #WorkplaceSafety #SustainableShipping

The Mission to Seafarers Q2 2024 Seafarers Happiness Index has revealed an increase in overall seafarers’ happiness levels. However, the survey has revealed concerns over the emergence of two classes of life at sea for seafarers. It has shown that there is reason to believe there is a ‘digital divide’ for accessing the benefits of modern communications and connectivity at sea, as well as different levels of training and preparedness for new fuels and technology for crew on different types of vessels. By working together with industry leaders, ship owners, managers, and charterers, the Mission aims to find actionable solutions that enhance seafarers’ overall well-being, safety, and quality of life.
