A Collaborative Approach to Air Traffic Management As air traffic grows and becomes more complex, collaboration among international agencies is more crucial than ever. The work being done in the NAM/CAR regions with the ICAO NACC office and Free Route Airspace is a prime example of how partnerships can unlock efficiencies and enhance safety. I’m proud to be part of a team that is leading these efforts. Currently, my work focuses on regional collaboration, implementing Free Route Airspace in the NAM/CAR and SAM regions, PBN (Performance-Based Navigation) implementation, and improving Search and Rescue (SAR) capabilities. The 78th IFALPA Conference is an annual event, this year held in Mexico City, that brings together delegations from professional associations from all over the world. After a greeting from the President, Cpt. Amornvaj "Ben" M., the multiple activities carried out by IFALPA in the last year were illustrated: from the very close interaction at a regulatory and technical level with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) as well as global campaigns on topics of interest to the entire pilot community. The conference continued with a review of the activities carried out in partnership with International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the all other interested bodies. CAAS had the pleasure to host International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council Representatives from across 33 States for a visit to the Singapore Air Traffic Control Centre on 20 February 2024. The ICAO Council Representatives, who were in Singapore for #SGAirshow2024, got firsthand insight into how Singapore deploys cross border Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) operations which contributes to safe, orderly and expeditious flow of air traffic to facilitate seamless ANS operations in the Asia Pacific region. 🛫 The ATFM operations is based on the Distributed Multi Nodal ATFM Network concept for the purpose of demand capacity balancing. #TakingAviationToNewHeights

📍EUROCONTROL's Director General Raúl Medina Caballero was in Strasbourg today, at the European Parliament, for #ECAC's 42nd Plenary Triennial Session. The meeting, led by #ECAC's President Alessio Quaranta, brought together DGCAs and representatives from key #aviation organisations such as #EASA, #ICAO and #EU. In his speech, Raúl Medina highlighted once again the importance of working in partnership, within and beyond the European boundaries, to tackle the major #aviation challenges of today, be it #sustainability, #capacity, #weather disruptions, and #traffic growth in our already limited airspace. Knowing Qazaq Air since day 1, I am curious if KZ Govt has made a deep and fair analysis why the first attempt (announced some years ago) failed. Was it caused by weak market position of Qazaq Air or lack of trust that regulations are enough stable and predictable? What is the priority - to cover old debts or to develop the airline and to open new jobs? Shall it continue with fleet of Q400 only or they need to move to +100seat jets? If the current geopolitical situation is in favor or it complicates the privatization of such airline? So many questions which need open and honest answers.

What the #SingleEuropeanSky reform (#SES+) should take into account to effectively decarbonise European aviation and address operational inefficiencies? ✈️🍀 With the current proposals, EU Member States are once again missing an opportunity to increase efficiency in Europe's airspace and reduce emissions with simple measures. Instead, new bureaucratic hurdles are looming for aircraft operators. Leveraging their daily experience with flying passengers and cargo across Europe, EBAA, Airlines for Europe (A4E), and the European Regions Airline Association sent a letter to European Institutions urging them to take into account the following recommendations: ✅ Integrating the Performance Review Body (PRB) into EASA or as part of DG MOVE as an independent entity free of any influence from states. ✅ Strengthening the position of National Supervisory Authorities, making them more independent and competent while supporting the PRB in its regulatory role. ✅ Removal of sections of SES 2+ pertaining to the Modulation of Charges and Common Unit Rate as they are incompatible with current discussions or the Green Deal. It is time for a truly integrated European airspace that delivers efficiency 🛫and reduces emissions 🍀for the benefit of European citizens.
