Thank you for your service and this wonderful testimonial. I served in the Army & Airforce and injured my knee jumping out of a helicopter in 1989. I broke my leg and it never quite healed right. It ended up really messing up my left knee. I was scheduled for a knee replacement before lockdowns which had to be postponed, which ended up really hurting my right knee and causing both knees to need to be replaced. I love to hike, but I was in pain because of my knees. The VA authorized me to see a civilian doctor who did my left knee replacement. The surgery went very well – but my recovery was a different story. The day after my surgery I was in a lot of pain. I ended up needing to take narcotics to deal with the pain. I was having to lift my leg up with a strap and had no strength in my leg. Then my ROMTech Rehab System was delivered, and it changed everything overnight. The first day using it I did 5 therapy sessions on the device and felt great, my pain was gone, and I was able to stop taking narcotics entirely, and I haven’t taken any since. I kept doing 5 therapy sessions a day on the device. When I had my first outpatient physical therapy appointment at my local clinic, I was able to perform a full leg lift, and all my other exercises with no problems at all. My physical therapy went so much better because I already had my range of motion in place. When I went into my follow-up visit with my Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Nicholas Kennedy, I didn’t need to use a walker, cane, or anything. He was happy with the results, and so was my physical therapy team. If I had to choose just one thing to use for recovery after surgery, I would choose the ROMTech PortableConnect, over anything else, including physical therapy. It made the most impact in my post-surgery therapy. There was no pain involved at all using the machine, and before you know it, you're sitting there pumping away with no problem at all. It’s amazing. Behind my house is a large mountain, and it’s a six-mile round-trip hike. Earlier today I just did that hike, and my left leg had no problems at all. I have a friend who had their knee replaced and it’s still not the same. After their surgery they were taking narcotics for a whole month. I showed them the device while I was recovering, and they wished they had been able to use the ROMTech Portable Connect for their recovery. Mueller Carolin Marti Benedetta Guani @Adamantios Athanasiou Adenomyosis is a debilitating gynecologic condition that affects both multiparous older women and nulliparous younger women, inducing a variety of symptoms such as dysmenorrhea, menorrhagia, and infertility. Thermal ablation techniques are new procedures that have been proposed for the treatment of adenomyosis. They include high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), percutaneous microwave ablation (PMWA), and radiofrequency ablation (RFA). Because thermal ablation techniques are minimally invasive or noninvasive, fertility is not impaired while symptoms improve. In addition, hospital stays and financial costs are generally reduced, increasing the interest in these alternative management options. Methods: In this narrative review, we conducted a thorough literature search of PubMed/Medline from the database inception to September 2022. In our search, we focused on noninvasive treatment methods such as HIFU ablation, RFA ablation, and PMWA as well as adenomyosis-specific terms and noninvasive techniques (ultrasonography, ultrasound, or magnetic resonance imaging). The queries were a combination of MeSH terms and keywords. The search was limited to the English language. Abstracts were screened according to their content, and relevant articles were selected. Results: Overall, the results showed that the above-mentioned ablation techniques are effective and safe in providing adenomyosis treatment. Lesion size and uterus volume are reduced, leading to considerable symptom alleviation with all three methods. Positive results concerning safety and fertility preservation have been described as well. Conclusions: Nonetheless, more research is required in this field to compare the efficacy and safety of different ablation techniques with traditional therapies. Hello Everyone, Today, I want to share a few thoughts on a principle that has not only guided me through my journey with Skinaa Clinic but has also been a cornerstone of my personal and professional life: "Trust your hard work, it is unlocking a new path for you." In our lives, we often encounter obstacles that seem insurmountable. During such times, doubt and fear can easily cloud our judgment. It's not just about the effort you expend but also about believing that this effort will bear fruit, even if the results are not immediately visible. At Skinaa Clinic, when we started, the path was not clear, and the challenges were daunting. The world of dermatology is both complex and competitive. Each day presented new challenges, from understanding patient needs to delivering innovative treatments. But it was our commitment to hard work and continuous improvement that set us on a path of growth and success. Remember, every bit of hard work is like planting a seed. At first, it seems like nothing is happening, but underground, everything is changing. You are setting roots, building a foundation so strong that when the results finally sprout, they are robust and fruitful. Trust in this process. Believe in your hard work, for it is indeed paving a new path—a path that could lead you to places beyond your current aspirations. I encourage each of you to persevere, to remain diligent and focused. Embrace the challenges, for they teach you lessons that success alone could not. Let your hard work be your guide, let it open new doors and shine a light on opportunities that were once hidden in the dark. This is an interesting review paper which highlights the important role of gut microbiota in affecting brain function, and its possible effects on neurological disorders. The gut-brain axis can either make brain problems worse or better. Hence, this paper concludes that an imbalance in the gut's microbiota can cause brain inflammation, chemical imbalances, and microglial and mitochondrial impairment— all of which are common features in various neurological disorders. This suggests that the gut-brain axis, through infections, metabolites, immune communication, and microglial and mitochondrial dysbiosis, impacts neurophysiological function and cognition. Understanding these complicated connections helps find new ways of treatment approaches aimed at improving neurological health outcomes for people suffering from neurological diseases. https://lnkd.in/gZsA-cry

The application of biomechanics to the musculoskeletal system has led to a better understanding of both joint function and dysfunction, resulting in design improvements in devices such as joint arthroplasty systems and orthotic devices. Basic musculoskeletal biomechanics concepts are important for clinicians eg physical and occupational therapists and orthopaedic surgeons. A therapist assessment of a patient typically includes a biomechanical analysis. Biomechanics is an interdisciplinary field that applies the principles of physics to biological systems to understand how organism move and interact with their surroundings. Biomechanics is concerned with everything from microscopic systems like muscle contraction in cells, all the way to large-scale, whole-body motions like a sprinting athlete . Biomechanics applies the laws of physics with regards to levers, pulleys and other known functions to define and understand the complicated forces involved in biological systems. Thank you so much for all your lovely messages yesterday ❤️ I'm going to give some background on him and what happened. As well as dolated cardiomyopathy he has something called coarctation of the aorta...dead tissue in his aorta that doesn't grow so its like water trying to get through a squeezed hosepipe...it cant...so pressure builds up and reduced flow through. Age 3 he was one of the youngest in the country (only Bristol offered it) and part of a study offering younger children a Stent as an alternative to open heart surgery. As it wasn't previously offered there was no proof of the benefits as seen in other countries such as Saudi. It's not without risk but any surgery has risks but reduces recovery time and no scar tissue in the aorta, meaning extra surgery at some point. Last year the research paper was published, of which Oliver was part of (and will continue to be) and now it's being g slowly offered elsewhere. Well.....he was all prepped and all the risks explained and options. His aorta has dead tissue which has meant that as he grows it narrows, meaning the blood can't get through meaning his blood pressure is raised and initially when it was discovered age 3, the aorta should be 10mm fully open but his was at 2mm at the problem area and had they waited he would have had a stroke/died. He's had it widened once and they initially thought it'd be dilated as and when necessary until he is 16-18. As they've researched they've seen that the stents can fracture once at full capacity (like a balloon) so he was thinking that an adult Stent would be possible though risky as the artery has to be big enough to take it and risk of losing his leg. The echo he had showed reduced blood flow. ⏩to the op....blood flow actually ok and Stent still functioning (echocardiogram doesnt always paint a true picture) Sought second opinion and agreed that there was no need to do anything.. He would have physically been able to have the new Stent but not justifiable for the potential risks involved as it wasn't necessary. He will have it placed in a few years but as the echo doesnt tell the truth fully, they will go by his blood pressure and when its bad enough to need an extra set of blood pressure meds instead. He's staying in and feels like 💩 as they still had to go in through his groin so has a fair wound but oddly pleased he didn't need anything doing as there's less risk the older he is. He's now ordering me around like im his personal butler! Life's been a rollercoaster for 11 years (he was in exactly 11 years ago and we were faced with an uncertain future)but life has a funny way of teaching us lessons and helping us learn and grow. We give thanks to his amazing surgeon Demetris Taliotis and the many like him for saving Oliver's life and all the other heart warriors out there.
