How often do you use writing (emails, messaging, documents) as a proxy for what could be communicated verbally? Very insightful discussion this afternoon with Prof Sandra Sieber of IESE Business School on how developments in Artificial Intelligence might have us speaking to each other more...and less reliant on text, writing, emailing. That sounds like a very positive development. I was struck too by the challenge Sandra posed as how we see Chatgpt, Copilot, Gemini and their cousins....do you see them as a technical tools replacing you or as a personal assistants enhancing what you can do? This reminded me of just how invaluable it is for leaders to invest time spent with other leaders who can provide fresh insights, timely support and good counsel when facing the challenges of running a business or leading a team in ths present climate.
