July 8, 2024 #breakingnews! Just passed a #brushfire off Southbound 167 at the Willis Street exit in #Kent. Immediately called #911 to #report it. They told me they got other #reports about it and the #firedepartment has been notified. Luckily, the nearest #firestation is extremely close by! It’s #Firestation71. I first saw black #smoke, which immediately caught my attention. When I got closer, I saw the #flames. Also contacted #local #mediaoutlets and #tvstations to inform them. Maybe they already knew but perhaps not. But I did think it was a #story they might be interested in and want to report on during their #broadcasts. #homeless people do stay in that area but I didn’t see any traces of #stuff nor any #people. The fire wasn’t huge but with our roughly 95 degree #temperature in this #heatwave and #vegetation being so dry, the fire could easily spread and grow! And my #dashcam did catch it but LI won't let the video be uploaded. However, I did include a #picture from the #camera.. So here’s my #newsreport and another #gooddeed for the day.
