We do self build as well as Commercial projects - if you are North of the Border where Timber Frame is the norm, get yourself along to this event. We know that there is a growing level of timber frame in England and Wales, still currently less than Scotland where it could be argued that building fabric has to work harder than in the Balmy South (England!). However, when people build for themselves, the percentage doing it in timber frame is completely inverted from the Housing market generally - something like 80% of self builds are in timber frame. Let's remember that this is when intelligent people are making decisions about what they want based on what is important to them. Oh, and they are usually spending the most money they ever will, and will probably only do it once - and they trust the investment with timber frame as their preferred method. I hear many arguments from traditional house builders that masonry is what their customers want - yet the evidence I see strongly suggests this is not the case.
