What are some signs that an Executive Team doesn’t feel safe working together? - There’s no debate on issues. Groupthink takes over. - New executive team members don’t bring up new ideas or challenge others. - Decisions seem to bottleneck (likely to your CEO) and nothing is getting accomplished. - eam members aren’t showing up as their authentic selves. Psychological safety is a necessary ingredient for any high performing team and that applies to the Executive Team as well. A great Executive Team isn’t just a curation of talent. You don’t just put a group of people together and expect the magic to happen - it requires the building of a team that works together cohesively towards a common goal. 🏗️ Building Trust: The Key to Construction Leadership As leaders in the construction industry, we understand the critical importance of trust in every aspect of our work. Whether you're an architect, building owner, property developer, manager, homeowner association member, or engineer, trust forms the foundation of successful collaborations and projects. Many of us struggle with the idea of giving trust freely, fearing the potential for mistakes or micro-losses. It's natural to want to maintain control and ensure everything runs smoothly, but true growth and scalability come from letting go and empowering others to make decisions. When you trust your team members, contractors, and partners to carry out their responsibilities without constant oversight, you foster a culture of collaboration and innovation. It's not about relinquishing control; it's about building a strong foundation of trust that allows your team to thrive. At 786 Construction Services Corporation, we believe that building trust and giving it freely are essential principles for success in the construction industry. By empowering our partners and stakeholders to take ownership of their roles and decisions, we pave the way for growth and excellence in every project we undertake. Together, let's embrace the power of trust and collaboration to elevate the construction industry to new heights of success. #ConstructionLeadership #TrustBuilding #Collaboration #Empowerment #ConstructionIndustry #Teamwork #Innovation

Bigger isn't always better We often get caught up in our 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 and overlook the value in the 𝗵𝗼𝘄 I ran a strategy workshop for a fit-out contractor who wanted to grow, in their words 'to become a real builder' - a general contractor Holes in the ground + cranes in the sky. There was a lot more to it, but here's the crux of it: 1. Fit Out Contractor • grow current relationships • post-covid office re-fits • 3 month projects • project margins 12%+ • less onerous contracts • quiet IR • over 3 yrs EBIT uplift 4x 2. General Contractor • hunt new relationships • competitive general building • 15 month projects • project margins 3% • high risk contracts • very noisy IR • over 3 yrs EBIT uplift 1.5x Don’t let ego get in the way of less stress and better returns. But here’s the thing, how do you shift that long-term burning ambition to be doing something else? ___________________________ 𝗜 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗮 𝟵-𝗳𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝘇𝗲. In the dynamic landscape of change management, success hinges on our ability to harness the three pillars of transformation: communication, learning, and rewards & reinforcements. 📢 Communication: Effective communication serves as the linchpin of change initiatives. Through transparent and empathetic dialogue, foster understanding, alignment, and trust among stakeholders. Tailored communication strategies ensure that every voice is heard, every concern addressed, and every milestone celebrated. 🧠 Learning: Embracing change requires equipping individuals with the knowledge and skills to thrive in new environments. Learning interventions should go beyond training sessions, offering immersive experiences that empower individuals to embrace change as an opportunity for growth. By fostering a culture of continuous learning, you can cultivate resilience and adaptability at every level of the organization. 🏆 Rewards & Reinforcements: Incentivizing desired behaviors is essential for sustaining momentum and commitment throughout the change journey. Reward systems are designed to recognize and celebrate achievements, reinforcing the value of embracing change. Whether through monetary incentives, public recognition, or developmental opportunities, it's vital that positive actions are met with tangible rewards, driving sustained engagement and enthusiasm. At LaMarsh Global, we understand that successful change management is not just about implementing new processes—it's about nurturing a culture of communication, learning, and recognition. FastTrack Architect Dream 🎯With our Architect2Entrepreneur Method we help committed architects start their own businesses, build their brand identities, win projects, and enjoy fulfilling lifestyles without burnout.
TRANSFORM YOUR FUTURE BY TURNING YOUR DISADVANTAGES INTO YOUR SUPERPOWER A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of meeting with my old business buddy, who is now running a building company. We believe in the Power of Collaboration, so we explored how working together can lead to greater heights. REMEMBER: Our journey to success is not a solitary climb. Each of us is a brick, and it's the mortar of collaboration that binds us together, forming a strong and resilient wall🧱 We start as individuals, driven by our survival instincts to get ahead. But as we grow, we realise that true success and personal growth come from collaboration, not from solitary efforts. It’s a path to burnout. When we choose collaboration, we open the door to incredible transformation—not just in our own businesses but also in the businesses of those around us. We are now expanding our mastermind group by bringing architects, building surveyors… THANK YOU to my friend Erwin Fornasier for reaching out. It is truly a gift to spend time with someone who is DRIVEN, COMMITTED and SUPPORTIVE. #architects #business #jolantadkarchitectcoach

"In my view, our current understanding and approach to clienting is two-dimensional in what is a multi-dimensional world. Clienting has become outdated and is not well matched to today’s complex environment and all its rich possibilities – especially the pace of change, challenges and ambiguity." "It has reaffirmed my belief that we can have the best policy intent and design the best commercial solutions but, if the client is in the wrong shape, focused on the wrong things or has its head in the metaphorical project sand, then nothing will work." #construction In Building Magazine, commercial director at the AWE, Emma-Jane Houghton FICE discusses the role and influence of the client on a project, whether we should expect the client to have all the answers and the concept of "the incomplete client." https://lnkd.in/e9BUC57G
Let’s harness the power of the ‘incomplete client’
