Recruiter for MedTech and High-Tech Leaders Who Build World Class Commercial Teams - LinkedIn Top Voice | 833.383.6678
I need a body! During my college career as a part-time operations supervisor with UPS, this call would go out over the radio whenever a part of the operation needed help. Of course, not all “bodies” were the same. Some were slow, some were less skilled, and some didn’t give a damn. But at least the little bit of help would benefit that small part of the operation. The same can’t be said for marketing and product management because their efforts impact so much of the company. A poor product launch is a poor product launch for the whole company. A badly conceived promotional plan is a blackeye inside AND outside the company. Poorly developed sales materials likely will result in an insurrection from the sales team. And yes, all those fingers will be pointing at the leadership that failed to get the right talent as opposed to a “body” to occupy that seat. And anyone who’s sat in a business review knows that things get brutal for whomever is considered to be responsible for the organization’s failures. So, is it worth the risk to your team, your organization and your career to not seek out the best talent for your marketing and product management roles? Need more than just a warm body? Me: “Tell me about your previous marketing experience?” Him: “I don’t have any yet…” Me: “Oh sure, so how about any knowledge work experience?” Him: “Nope” Me: “Sure, so what work experience do you have?” Him: “Well, I’m currently working in a bar.” He got hired. Why? We saw potential. In the last 3 years, Michael Twiddy progressed from Account Manager to Account Director and is now Head of Growth. He’s responsible for Fame’s sales and marketing. Something he had no experience with 3 years ago. Hiring managers: Sometimes it’s worth giving them a chance. Take the leap. Make the hire. Agree?

I want Compound Growth to change the trajectory of careers. I want people to come to CGM, learn, get results for clients… Then take those learnings to accelerate their career. I’m not unrealistic, I don’t expect everyone (I do expect some) to spend more than 2-4 years here. But here’s the thing. You get to learn really quickly when you’re here. You get to see how some of the fastest growing companies in the world operate marketing. You get to see trends emerge across our portfolio of clients quicker than you would in an in-house position. You will drive impact and results for the clients you work with. We’ll ask you to figure out how to capitalize on new trends. Right now, we have an Account Director job open, among other roles. I will know we’ve been successful when we have alumni in CMO, VP of Marketing, and who have started their own companies. https://lnkd.in/e3eNUr6J

Are you a new hire in a company filling a brand-new role? It can be stressful and nerve-wracking, but you can adjust and grow to make things happen. Here are 3 things I've learned from working in roles that didn't previously exist until I joined the company: 1. Be patient with yourself: You're doing things that haven't been done before. Yes, you want to move fast but you need to do your best to build out your systems and processes as you move forward. A solid foundation provides a backbone to everything you're doing. 😊 2. A/B test everything: Because you're doing things that haven't been done before, test everything. Form your hypothesis about different problems you're trying to solve then do everything to make it happen. If things break, it's ok. You just learned a way to not do something. 🧪 3. Communicate and give updates: Regular, frequent communication makes a huge difference. You don't have to sit alone in your problems. Let people around know what you're working on. Ask for insights on the various problems you're dealing with. It'll help others buy in to what you're doing. 💬 Have you filled a brand-new position before? If so, what are your favorite best practices? #businessdevelopment #sales #marketing #digitalmarketing #strategicpartnerships

I guide others in building systems and strategies that turn solo ventures into thriving enterprises. Let's take your business to its full potential.
Making sure that you're hiring not just a qualified candidate, but the right candidate seems imposible. But it's not. Here's a question that has transformed my hiring process: "Given three roles – in marketing, operations, and accounting, all offering the same pay and opportunities – which one truly aligns with your passion?" I've been stunned by how often people applying for marketing roles reveal they'd rather crunch numbers in solitude. This insight isn't just about finding a good fit for the job but about uncovering a candidate's genuine passion and strengths. Ensuring your team members are in roles that resonate with their core interests isn't just beneficial; it's crucial. It's about getting the right people in the right seats - a game-changer in harnessing true potential and driving organizational success.

“Dad, what’s your job”? Put on the spot by a 9 year old! How do I explain Product Marketing so he understands!? 🤔 “Well… …the team and I have to understand what challenges companies face and work with people in my company to ensure our products help them. Then I have to tell them how it will help them”! 💡 Sat deep in thought and then suddenly he says… “you mean a bit like when I had to write that advert for homework on why a secret agent should buy a gadget smartphone and I added all those features I thought would be handy if I was a spy”?🕵️ 😮I think at simple level, he got it! Product Marketing has been different in every role I’ve had, some more focused on creating slide decks (if you know, you know). 📊 Others focused more on messaging. 📝 And others more focused on market research. 🔎 The team here at MHR are bringing that together to form the perfect blend! 👌🏾 So if you’ve started January thinking you need a new challenge 🧐 And want to play a key part in a team 🔑 Then why not check out this role to join the team: https://lnkd.in/eQTBpEHU If you have questions or want to know more, just drop me a message or reach out to the lovely Rosie North #productmarketingmanager #marketing #newopportunity #hiringnow
